got my paint today....arrived in bad shape

I ordered a case of marballizer from action village last wednesday. It arrived at my house today via fedex. I opened up the case and there is at least one ball busted in all four bags. It doesnt look too bad but i am disappointed in the condition. I think they arrived this way because of the cold temperatures along the way. Do you guys think this batch is ruined? Or is there a way i can clean them up so they'll be like new? Thanks

One time about 500+ of my balls got covered in paint. I never had this problem and they were cheap balls so all i did was put them in a strainer and washed them off for about 5 seconds (like 200 at a time) and through them into a box with an old T-shirt on the bottom. The balls are going to get soft so you don't want to stack to many on top of each other. After i washed them i put them outside overnight and they were as good as new.

EDIT: Overnight they will dry and become just as hard as they were before.

It's not a matter of them becoming "hard" again, feeding dirty paint into your gun is going to cause chops and terrible accuracy.

Just take a towel and clean them off. It will take a while, but it's really the only thing you can do. They should be good as new once you're done.

Don't put any water on them to clean them...

Just put them on a towel and roll them around.

Whats the problem with cleaning them with water? I find it less time consuming and some of the balls that come with dents in them had actually become a ball again after sitting overnight.

The shell of a paintball is water soluble. It will make the ball swell up, possibly making harder/impossible to fit down the barrel as well as making the shell thinner, and in turn more prone to breaking. If you tried soaking them in water, especially hot water, they'd eventually dissolve.

You know those bath bead things people use to make scented bubble baths or whatever? Paintballs have essentially the same construction, the shell is just a bit thicker and they're filled with... well, paint, instead of soap or whatever is in those bath bead things.

Well, for me, since i have no local paintball store, it's either risking buying good paint over the net or buy from walmart. I would love to be able to buy from a store but there isnt one closer than 75-100 miles away

Check out Paintball Guns - Paintball Gear, Paintball Equipment available at HustlePaintball.com

They have free shipping for every order that contains atleast one case of paint. And if you have paint broken, they will replace it. Great prices also.

After looking at their site I think I'm actually just going to order from offline now. Hell paint you buy in stores is sometimes broken when you get it and most of the time they wont give you a refund or a new case.

Thanks for sharing.

It depends who is working at the store. The only place around here to buy it is wal-mart. Sometimes if the right people are there they will let you open up the paint and check, sometimes they won't. Same with returning it.

I've only ordered online from AV and never had any broken paint that I can recall. The few times I had broken paint I bought from a store in person, if I found a broken ball they would replace the bag so long as it was still closed.

Every proshop I've bought paint from opens up the case in front of me to check to make sure the paint is ok. If they don't, you should insist on it. Walmart would probably refuse... but that's just one more reason you don't ever buy paint from walmart.
