Question refrigerating paintballs question

Hello,

I am a newbie to the sport. I play woodsball with friends, family and co-workers on the weekends. A guy played with us last time and stated that he stores his paint in the refrigerator. Back at work we talked about it and I said it was wrong to do as it has a potential to cause serious injury to someone. Others stated it just improves ball performance and keeps people from wiping as it jells the paint. He was using DBX balls, which from what I have read arent a top of the line ball.

My question is what does refrigerating do to/for the balls and is it right or wrong to do in a friendly game. Thanks for any input that is given.

Wrong on SO many levels. 1: they wont break, hence, no kills, more pain. 2: will make the balls dimple and less accurate. 3: The guy that does it to me will either be ejected from the field (as I'm a ref too) or have an ass whooping coming, depending on what mood I'm in.

Moral of the story, keep your balls clean, warm, and dry, and you wont have any problems...

My god... I am soooooo tired of the frozen/cooled/refrigerated paintball myth...

Keep them room temp (about 68-72F) in low humidity and out of direct sunlight. PERIOD...

Freezing them wont do ****.

It wont make them harder, more painful or anything.

All it does is make them more brittle.

If anyone tells you otherwise they are wrong and tell them to gtfo.
