JJ Ceramic chopping paint

Little issue Ive been having, but can't pinpoint it to a certain point
Every once in awhile when I look in the barrel, I see there is paint chips in the barrel meaning the ball chopped, however the paint isn't in the cyclone hopper or near the ball detent, so this means it broke during the trip in the barrel
Reasons I think this is happening
1. There is a very thin but still there layer of oil in the barrel, however i don't have a squeegee to clean it
2. My velocity is high I think but I don't know how to get it reasonable with a chronograph.

Gun is a Tippmann 98 Custom Pro
-Cyclone
-Expansion Chamber
-E-Trigger
-ETC

Are you eyeballing it or are you using a chrono for the velocity?

True, however it can't be reason number 3.. because the paint is actually smaller than the barrel O.o
