Question SP1 barrel upgrade-worth it?

I bought a sp1 kit that included a 16 in " sp tactical" barrel. now, a little background. the sp1 has a bullpup design( translation, the chamber is set far back) so i have a 16 in barrel set back about 6 in so the barrel looks 10 in long. my point is, length isnt an issue. moving on, i just used my gun in a real game a week ago. after ajusting the velocity, i was getting pretty acurate, but my rang was suffering. im clocking at 274 fps, any more and the range skyrockets but the accuracy drops. i was playing w/ alot of guys w/ frontlines and they were getting = accuracy but alot more range w/o angleing the gun. is a progressive/ allamerican barrel going to improve my range at all? help, game on sat!

If your parents DON'T pay for your paintball stuff, put this on your sig

92% of teens moved to rap music. if your part of the 8% that stayed with rock, put this in your sig.

You can only increase range with more velocity the barrel counts for little to nothing. As you saw cranking the velocity up too much ruins accuracy the best velocity is anywhere from 270-285fps. The barrels the other guys were using are called "Flatlines" and they work by putting backspin on the ball so the paint shoots in a straighter line for more range but at the further range the velocity slows down so you get a much lower chance of the paint actually breaking and bounces don't count.

The best advice I can give is to stop worrying about ways to get your shots to go further and instead work on getting yourself closer. Paintballs suck for range and their accuracy is mediocre at the best of times no matter what you are using so the best way to score an elimination is to move yourself closer and get a better angle.

Also, I do believe the the definition of a Bullpup design is having the magazine located behind the grip, but I could be wrong.

If anything, get a J&J Ceramic barrel is you want to get a new barrel, they're the best barrel for under $50 hands down

Not AZN level price, there's not too many electro markers priced at the same level as the Talon.

Flatlines and Apex barrels are useless, and are huge marketing gimmicks, don't even waste your time thinking about them.

doesn't matter what barrel is on your marker. basic physics states that gravity acts upon all objects equally. so whatever barrel you use wont help range as long as your velocity remains a constant

true, but ive seen barrels w/ a spiral riffleing inside the barrel, if it works on a metal bullet, wouldnt it work on a gellitin shell?

also, is there a barrel that allows you to fire at a higher velocity w/o blowing the ball out of control? like i said above, at 275, i get good range and good accuracy, but at around 280 it just goes out of control, far , but out of control.

think about what you just said. a squishy, round object with seams. This is nothing like a bullet.

Bullets are football shaped, meaning spiral is good. Paintballs are baseball shaped meaning they will curve just like a baseball.

Nope because the fill inside the paintball doesn't move. The idea of rifling in paintball isn't new at all if it worked as well with paintball markers as it did with firearms don't you think all barrels would be rifled already?

A velocity of 275 is perfectly acceptable if you are getting good accuracy at 275 I'd just go with that accuracy is far more important than range. Some markers just work better at different velocities and yours might just work best at 275.
