Deadly Wind barrel

ok so im looking around for a new barrel, something really high quality and i have only heard good things about the DW, i also played a game with a guy that was usuing a DW barrel and was amazed at his ball oin ball accuracy, however, i do have a couple inquries,

1. i saw some talk about it using freak inserts, what's up with that? i thought it came with like 5 barrel backs that had different bores. explain?

2. if there is a barrel that anyone thinks is better than the DW please let me know so i can look into it. money is not a problem. thanks =]

Yes it uses freak inserts, but it is still the best barrel system I have ever used.
