interesting... so it is a mount that allows the user to switch barrels on the fly? how does the switch work - a spring-loaded lever? isn't the apex already capable of being turned off without having to switch to another barrel? note that fields will require users to chrono with both barrels... that will likely hurt the performance of one of them because i doubt they'll put out identical velocities.

We do know of those problems. With the apex, its good for what it can do, but as a normal barrel when turned off? Really is no better than a stock barrel from Tippmann. The crono situation, we have used them at waynes world and the difference is really not that big. Just chrono the one your going to use most likely, or chorno the one you think will be slower. Also if you use CO2 it isnt really stable when it comes to same speed over and over again, so again there is no real difference.

You should never chrono the SLOWER one, you should chrono the faster one, as you don't want your velocity to be over 300 when you switch. That's why (even if the field doesn't REQUIRE it) you should chrono both to ensure you're not risking hurting someone if you use it.

Couldn't you just buy a Lapco barrel that is Apex ready or one of the other barrels out there that is made for the Apex?

It also saves you from having to reset the Apex all the time, in a game of split second decisions it could come in handy. Also it slows down the wear in the apex if you dont slide it up and down too often.
