take your pick they're both great barrel at $30 each.

I prefer J&J just because they shoot out breaks and youre' not totally boned if it happens in a game.

But are they manufacturing smaller barrels now to fit the smaller paint?

Yes they have a wide range of bore sizes, and even an amazing kit for the price.

Overall they are very close, and you will be satisfied with either no doubt. They are both reliable and the only real difference would be the price.

well ya but like i said i dont really plan on getting another marker since i dont go a lot. If price was the same which would you reccomend?

I'm really trying not to make this decision for you. In my opinion only, I feel the J&J wins because it's slightly quieter and self cleaning, but I do like the way the CP looks.

The only things that affect accuracy are the paint you are using and bore match. So in short, your answer is yes. Just make sure you pick a good bore size for the weather conditions you play in and the paint you use.

so if i play in san diego and usually use mid-low grade paint from the paintball field what bore size would you reccomend? the only think i dont like about the J&J is that i heard the bore size varys because of the ceramic coating so im not sure if it would b a reliable choice

it's got a ceramic coating so it shoots of paint breaks without needing a squeegee

The accuracy between barrels really doesn't change much from what I've noticed. stock barrels don't always have as great of a finish on the inside so that makes aftermarket barrel better.

J&J one piece barrels are .689
CP 1 piece barrels are .689 unless otherwise noted

I'm going to leave it completely up to you on what barrel to choose. I definitely recommend thoroughly researching each one.

As for the bore size, the humidity will slightly affect the bore, but not enough to really worry about it especially as a rec baller. By the paint you're using, I don't mean cheap or expensive, but the actual brand will dictate the size slightly.

Even though all paintballs are supposed to be .692, I find myself using .682's or .685's most of the time. Going with a slight under bore or overbore each have advantages and disadvantages, and if you care enough, take a few minutes to read about it online.

As Matrix said, if you go with one of these barrels, they will both be about .689 unless otherwise noted.

well when i called J&J company they said they vary from 685-693. But i called the stores that sold them and they said 689. While the CP u can chose either 685 693 or 689

.689 is a good safe size. the only thing you're really going to get out of underboring is more shots per tank. Lets be honest though, a tippman isnt' going to excel at that no matter what you do.

Good choice, although you might be able to find it slightly cheaper. I'll see what I can find for you when I get home. I think you'll love the self cleaning aspect.
