Exclamation An End to What Barrel should I get threads.

This thread is to stop all of those what barrel should i get? Or what Paintballs will work with my barrel threads.

The Look

Many people in paintball base their upgrade decisions on how they look. This also happens with barrels. For instance a Blue barrel may look ugly on a orange gun or a Black barrel may look weird on a yellow gun. Here is what i think: If your gun is blue get a black or a blue barrel.
If your gun is black get a black or Black/Chrome mix
etc.

Some barrels look good on certain guns and not on others. Go to your proshop and bring your gun, look at a few barrels and ask if you can see how they look on your gun. If you like how it looks buy it, if you don't keep looking.

Most of the barrels are listed here some are not. Search google or ask anyone on the forum to find out the reccomended paintballs and bore sizes of you barrel choice.
If you have the wrong size paintball with a barrel it could lead to inaccuracy and chopping. Make sure your paint and barrel are basically the same size to make sure you don't chop in the barrel.

Porting

Porting is a pretty important factor in how the ball is projected and how loud the gun sounds. If you have a barrel with lots of porting, chances are it will be more quiet than a barrel with very little porting. In my opinion, i don't care if it's loud or not but some people do.

Barrel Length

Barrel length is pretty much the owner's preferance. Some people like 12 in. barrels some like 14, some even like 18. In my opinion the best sizes are 12 and 14. A 12 in. and a 14 in. barrel are pretty much the same because it's only two inches of difference and the two inches just flies by when a paintball is flying out of the barrel at 200-300 Feet Per Second.
If you play Speedball/Xball you may want a 16 in. barrel so you are able to stay behond a bunker yet wrap the barrel around the bunker and shoot. This is known as playing "tight" or decreasing your chances of being hit.
The 18 in. barrel- many people do not like the length of the barrel due to the long travel of the ball. The long travel creates friction and the ball loses distance which can also lead to inaccuracy.

Your Decision

Your decision should be based on what YOU think. Don't listen to what other people think because everybody has a diffferent style of play. The one thing you should listen to people about when it comes to barrels is the performance. Ask around you field for any small reviews on how the barrel performs and what you need to look for.

* I hope this thread helped to stop many of the what barrel should i get threads. Feel free to tell me anything i could change.

No, I didn't copy and paste anything. The only thing i copied was the barrel chart which is stated in the post. This was all my know-how. however Remix, i don't think it is based on play either but i think people who play tourneys and sush should have a longer barrel so they are able to wrap it around the bunker.

here's sumthin wierd. i now that most .689 barrels fit inferno perfectly but i was using arctic inferno which u would assume to be about the same size and it was incredibly smaller than .689. just a warning for anyone thinking inferno and arctic inferno sizes are the same
