To change or not to change?

Hi guys, I presently own own and play with a stock BE Raptor. (pictures in the BE pic thread) Well we only play woodstyle and mostly recreational. Small local tournaments but nothing big. Well the guys in my team play with either 98Custom, MercuryG2 or Ras Intruders. Dont flame us, we are beginners and dont plan on getting too big anyways. Well I currently am the strongest player with my Raptor and a Avenger as backup gun. I was thinking on maybe upgrading to a better marker this year, but I cant make up my mind. I really like the armotech style type of marker. But would it be worth it to change my raptor (wich I love) for either a 98Custom, Ariakon Toro or maybe the new Warsensor WSF?? Whats your opinion?

well if ur looking for a good, reliable, yet also affordable upgrade gun, you could go with the o so reliable 98 custom, or maybe an imagine 04, which ive heard is a rather good deal for the price as well.

i do however have a question for you, i just got a raptro like yours rescently for like 5 bucks cuz it was "broken"(fixed now easily) and im wondering, is it something thats gonna be breakin down on me a lot or is it fairly reliable?

well I played with my avenger for about 3 years (about 15-20 days per year, saddly we have long winters here), and then my brother, wich always plays with me, sold me his Raptor and I am going on mysecond year with it (so a total of about 100days) and I have not encountered any major problem with neither of my BE. The only maintenance I do on them is O ring once in a while. And with all the "exploded views" available on BE official site, its very easy to do. I do though oil them after each game. I play in a very dirty evironment, we have our own OLD barn that we use only for paintball and its filled with old hay bails, and it gets everywhere (eyes, nose and makers) so in my opinion it would be hard for me to get a more reliable marker. And my raptor shreds even less balls then my avenger did, so barely any. Talking about this makes me realize how much I love my Raptor, so thanks for the reminder, Ive decided Ill be keeping my Raptor at least for this season!

edit: do you have a pic of yours?

awesome that's good to hear, um, mine looks about the same as yours, but its silver and i took the stock expansion chamber off of my xtra and put that on it, i prefer to have a front grip on my markers, just feels better :-P
so its all silver with just a dash of like a baby bluish color, pretty nice.

Sound nice. As far as front grip, thats another reason why im reluctant to buying a new marker, I LOVE the front mounted bottle on my raptor. So much more compact and way better balance. I cant faind any other marker where you can mount the Co2 bottle in front like on my raptor? Im actually trying to convert my avenger like that too....

if you buy a verticle adapter you can have a 98custom like that. And i think u should think about getting the 98custom. Theres so much u can do to it and its reliable. I have a 98 custom and the same raptor as you. The raptor is broke at the moment though. And if you get a 98custom tippmanns service is great. They sent me a free bolt i lost.
