Date stamping threads with...

Is there a way we can get threads' and posts' date stamp to include the year? I used to hang out on this forum quite a bit, but one of my biggest gripes was that every time I'd head into a thread or respond to a post, it never included the year that the person posted. It becomes increasingly difficult to help people if you don't know how long ago they posted, making it too easy to ressurect old threads. For instance, I just went into the Macdev forum where people where someone was asking about the newest model of cyborg. I was about to respond telling them that the 07 was out, and the 08 should be out sometime hopefully soon. I scrolled down, and someone had posted that the 06 was the latest model, and it had just been released.

If we can get this changed, it may increase the traffic over here being that they'll be able to put a date on when something was posted.

I don' see it increasing traffic, but I agreee with you that it's a good idea to make it happen. it'ld stop the re-appearence of old threads for sure.

To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Well, perhaps I did go a bit far with suggesting that it would increase traffic, but I know personally, one of the only reason I didn't come here for the longest time was because I had no idea which threads were truely dead or not. It is frustrating.

Anyhow, if a year can be added to the date stamp, I'm sure at the very least it would cut down on repopulation or discussion of old information.

Thanks for the consideration.
