help with my tippmann 68 special

We'll, my dad bought a tippmann 68 special quite along time ago from a friend. And it's been sitting for years, I asked him for it and he said if I can fix it I can have it. It appears that it's not semi-automatic anymore, the bolt won't blow back. I'm not sure if it is a syphon tank, had the problem when he bought it. Could having a non-syphon tank cause this? Or maybe a spring I'm not really sure, any help appreciated.

sorry, I've not been on in the last day or so.

The classic answer is to lube it up. However, the 68 special is a rare breed and I'm not so sure about it exactly. Perhaps the peopel at mcarterbrown forums can better help you.

As far as I know, it does require a siphon tank; the valve won't operate unless it's super high pressure.

Post Hello Deamonz

OK I hate all forums except Doc's Machine & Airsmith Services
but I saw you're post and thought I could help so I joined just to do that.

Not re-cocking eh?
Remove the black plastic Linking-Arm, just have to take off the two mini o-rings.
Take the front receiver off. to do that remove the two bolts under and forward of the trigger guard.

NOW the black plug thingy that is the front bolt, thats what might be sticking. If you cannot move it back and forth easyly with your finger, thats your problem.
Take it out and rub it on some fine sand paper to decrease its size, I'v done this before, it works.

Important note: Everyone knows you need a siphon-tank to run this rig. However my self and a friend bolth own a TP-68-SP that dose not need a siphon tank, so there is a slight chance yours may work regardless of a siphon tank (this is rare - don't count on it).

If everything rides smooth (the front bolt) with your finger and its back together and dose not re-cock, you prolly need a siphon tank.

and here is a schematic... scroll down to "68 Special Schematic" (Ctrl"F" for the search function)

Hope that helps a little
