Difficulty with member(s)

I have been the member of this forum for a decent period of time and have only recently began actively posting in the Tippmann forum. It seems as two individuals in that forum, one more than another, like to single me out and belittle my comments of particular threads.

I do admit I have posted some comments that were criticizing yet they were still true. Such as "Wrong forum maybe? Ugh" showing my frustration with a member asking "What's a good HPA Tank?" which should belong in a forum like "Air Systems" not "Tippmann". I also made a post in another members thread, where I not only commented on the marker and asked valid question, but I also stated that I was under the impression that pictures of a members gun belonged in the "Rate my gun thread" or in the markers picture thread. That member didn't take it person but again those two members did and again one more than theo ther.

I have even gotten PMs from one of those particular members (and replied, still have them if desired) calling me names like "***, prick, dewshe(douche),jackass, bastard, and dick" to name a few. I've even been told that by this member that I will be banned from the forum, simply because he doesn't like me, because he is friendly with a mod from Mason, Ohio-DuoDSG (name wasn't mentioned, I put two and two together).

The whole point of this thread is not necessarily to get a member in trouble or banned. It's simply to allow me to understand what I am to do in this situation, perhaps other members are as well. I have not edited or deleted any of my posts so feel free to see exactly what was said by all parties.

I would appreciate from advice from the fellow moderators of this site, moreover what DuoDSG's take on this is. I have nothing against DuoDSG at all, I'm just wondering why he was mentioned by this particular member who will go nameless unless needed.

Thank you.

When they flame you, look at the bottom of their post, in small print on the right, it says "Report this post to a moderator." Click that, and give flaming as your reason.

Thumbs up

Well, GrEEdy, I didn't hear about this until I checked reported posts so I have no idea who did this and the specifics of their actions. However, you can be assured of this:

Regardless of what "connections" that member may think they have may be, I can tell you that I wouldn't support him/her in this situation. They are the one at fault here, and no kind of acquaintance with me as a moderator will bail ANY member out of a situation like this one. A lot of people on the forum may think that because they have "friends in high places" they can get away with inappropriate behavior and dictate what happens to members they don't like, and that can't be farther from the truth. When I talk to someone on AIM or here on the forum, I make the distinction between being a friend to talk to and my moderating duties. One does not infringe upon the other, so it's a guaranteed bet that I would get on any member about actions like these regardless of whether they consider me a friend or not.

I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier, but I wanted to post after reading your message to let you know where I stand on this so you wouldn't be wondering. If you have any further difficulties with this member, let the staff (and especially me) know quickly and I will personally see to it that this is taken care of. No one should have to be harassed like that, much less be intimidated by the member hiding behind the shadow of a super mod.

Thanks DuoDSG. I haven't had any problems recently and it seems that Austin had taken care of the situation properly.

I just wanted to thank all of the mods and members out who took the time to post.

You guys rock.
