Egg acting up?

I am currently looking at buying a new hopper. Right now I have a Revolution on my BKO. Its basically a blender. I know I need eyes, just can't afford them right now. I was looking at the egg but my friend had one that would just stop feeding in the middle of play. I read on the forum somewhere of another guy complaining of this. Is this common? Should I look at something eles (I have limited funds)?

Usually, when it 'just stops' feeding, the eyes are dirty or aren't aligned right. That happened to me during a tournament this spring. One of my teammates that got out was walking behind be and gave me his halo. When I got home I just cleaned the eyes and made sure they were working...but then bought a Halo B.

Eggs aren't that great IMO...I would try saving up for a Halo B or Reloader B, but if you are on a tight budget, then an egg wouldn't be too bad.

You can find Halo B's and Reloader B's extremely cheap on PbN. Huey69 got a used twice Reloader B for $55. You just gotta look around. I suggest looking in the Getting out of paintball sales because the people getting out usually need quick cash, so haggling is easier.

More like used 4 times...but either way it is good. Usually you can find used halo's for around $75, or even cheaper if the seller is desperate.

I got one for free that needs drive cone kit and lid kit.

EDIT: So basically $22 for a working reloader b.

that isn't the halo that we talk about. When we say halo we mean the halo B that uses a belt to drive it and shoves the balls down the feedneck. Not the frontman that just spins a propeller knocking balls to the hole.

I got A eggy with Z-board and I love it. My friend and I loaded his halo b w/ rip drive and my eggy w/ z-board. We then held them a few inches above the ground and turned them on. The balls poured out and the eggy only took 3 seconds longer and it even has a bigger capacity. So we figured that the Egg was just as fast. If you'd get a victory board or something though for your halo if you ever got one you'd be much more pleased than you would with an eggy. I however suggest getting the egg w/ z-board. I too used to have a revvy and then upgraded to the egg and was very pleased.

A halo will feed differently while on a gun becuase the ball stack will have a constant pressure on it while off the gun it does not.

I did and it doesn't make sense really...pressure from what? the top of the loader? Like by the drive con? Or where it drops into the breech, because opened up all the way on full speed where the loader barely keeps up there shouldnt be any pressure from the bottom so they'd fall identical to the way theyd fall on a gun maxing them out as they would to falling into the air.

halo b drive cones are actually made up of three parts. the drive cup, drive spring, and drive cone. the cup holds a spring which puts force on the drive cone. if you put your finger in to stop to cone from spinning, and spin the rip drive (if you have one) it will wind up the spring. then when you let go, the cone flies really fast. thats why halos/reloaders can have a rip drive and still feed 15+ bps with no batteries. its also why halos are faster than eggs
