Upgrade Help

I have a Tippmann A-5 and I'm looking to upgrade it to the max internally and externaly. Any internal upgrades you guys would recomend? Oh, and I don't need or want to get a response trigger or egrip because I conserve my ammo and I'm careful about my shots. I will also get a camo on my gun whether it be duracoat or a camo wrap. Thanks.

advice. take the a-5 and wrap it in a nice black garbage bag and duct tape it shut. then take that nice a5 and set it out next to your garbage and pray that they pick it up.

Yea thanks for realizing that I'm sticking with my A-5. I like it because it's reletively inexpensive, it has a cyclone feeder and I can upgrade it almost any way I want. Just out of curiosity has anyone heard of Milsig stuff, I wanted to get a paintball stock of theirs?

i don't know if anyone tried to tell you this but just play with it stock until you are ready or the funds are there for another marker. not saying a5s are bad guns because that's the gun i started on but just keep it stock becuase you'll regret pooring money into it.

almost any other gun, there are quite a few guns that are sub ~$350 that wont break the bank like a DM8 will or something simmaler, but will still offer you loads of performance increases over the A-5

personally im partial dangerous power guns, the fusion F8 is a real nice gun for 299

That's something for me to think about but I'm not really looking for a differnet gun right now unless I find something I like. I got the A-5 just for woodsball and nothing else. For woodsball do you still think the A-5 is bad? If so what gun would you recomend for woodsball? What about something by BT like the TM7? Any thoughts cause I need something that I can snipe with, and I know I will probably upgrade it anyway.

OK you guys are telling him to save up his money to buy a new gun i cant agree more with you guys but i have a problem with your ideas
1 does he already have a hpa system if not its 159.99 new
2 he will need a hopper thats 100 if he wants to keep up with the f8
3 finally the cost of the gun 299

so the guy gonna spend $550.00

A-5 Assassin how much do you play paintball and how much are you willing to spend that is the question if it was me buy a little at a time like a hpa tank fist it will work with your a-5 as long as it is high pressure 2nd thing would be the hopper because (i know every one is going to say a-5 has a hopper i know it does) if you decide to go with a different gun then the hopper is there waiting for to use. 3 i would find the best gun to use for you and your budget go to a local paintball field and shoot some different Gun to which one you want

First of all I don't have a local paintball field, I don't know of any within 200 miles. This is my original plan: With my stock A-5 I would upgrade it with a nice barrel, stock, hopper, HPA Tank, red dot sight, asthetic upgrades and various internal upgrades. All of this and good apparel and other gear would total to about $1000. I know this is a lot of money to put into an A-5, but I was hoping with the propper upgrades that it would be as reliable, accurate and perfect as gun as any other. This upgraded marker would be used solely for woodsball. I HAVE NOT GOTTEN THESE UPGRADES, MY MARKER IS STOCK.☺ I am very serious about this game and any help would be great. Money isn't so much the issue but I do have some money now that I had saved for upgrades. My friend and I are starting a paintball club at our school and we are very serious about this game. Don't get me wrong though we still know it's just for fun. What I have written is long and a little redundant but I'll take any help I can get. Thanks.

well I def wouldn't recommend dumping that kind of money into an A-5. Especially when you can get something EXTREMELY nice for that kind of money. Its sort of like buying a dodge neon, and dumping $200k into it trying to make it into a Ferrari when you can just flat out buy a Ferrari from the start. lol you may not like that analogy but im sure you get the gist of it.

You guys keep telling me not to put money into my A-5 but you aren't really giving me any advice on what to get you just keep telling me how bad the A-5 is. Could you give me some help on this I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

good upgrades: squishy paddles for cyclone, new powertube, hpa tank, and a barrel kit.
bad upgrades: flatline, scope, or anything else that makes it noticeably heavier.

also, theres really no point in changing its color. if your staying still, black will blend in just fine. if your moving, it will not matter that your gun is camo because they'll still see you.

What I meant to say was that since the A-5 is inexpensive I think it's a good gun to buy stock and then upgrade it. This may seem like a stupid idea but I like it and I know some sweet upgrades. Oh and woodsballer 10 thanks for the help I was wondering about those squishy paddles. By the way do you have a certain powertube you'd recomend? Thanks again!

but what most of us are saying is that you saying you have a $1000 to upgrade this gun with, if you just flat out spent that on money a different gun it would far out perform the a-5. with a thousand bucks you could get any bob long like the marq 6 or vice, dm8, just about any ego, etc. And any of these guns stock out of the box would outperform any a-5 with every upgrade known to man added to it.

and if you wanted a mid ranged priced gun that is still amazing, look at the dangerous power F8 which can be gotten for only $299, and again would outperform any A-5 configuration you can get your hands on.

Im not trying to "hate on" the A-5, im just simply pointing out and saying, for that kind of money (a grand) there is so much more that is so much better than the A-5 that it would be foolish not to look into other options.

Its more like we think an a-5 is a over priced 98. It just comes with a cyclone feed which I don't consider a upgrade. If you have the money and like the mil sim look, it can be pretty cool. But if your shorter on money it isn't the best choice.

I am not going to spend 1000 bucks on my A-5, what I said was I was probably going to spend $1000 on the upgrades, paint, playing apparel, dura coat camo, and various other things. The guns you suggested are all speedball guns and I won't be playing speedball only woodsball. I think the A-5 is adaquete (pardon spelling) for woodsball and if I upgrade it it should perform well. Accuracy and weight are the two biggest factors I worry about. Accuracy depends on a good paint to bore match and with an HPA tank I could be just as accurate as any marker. Please keep in mind the $1000 is for everything I'd need for paintball. So with that in mind please tell me what you think of my explanation. Thanks.

Say you spend around $550 on your apparel, tank, hopper, pod pack/pods, and mask and paint.
That still gives you $450 to spend on the marker. A marker like a used pm7 is great out of the box and would need zero upgrades and can be used for woodsball. Or something like a mini/pmr for $200 is great out of the box. hell if you want something that can take a beating an 98 with a cp barrel, would preform like an a5.
Its just that there are things that give you more bang for the buck.
ps any marker can be a woodsball marker.
