empire prophecy or dye rotor?

hey guys i'm planning to get a planet eclipse etek 3...empire axe or a dp fuxion... and i need a loader...so....my options are...
an empire prophecy and a dy rotor...i've heard that sometimes the rotor won't work nice if the paint is cheap...and gets stuck sometimes more often than the prophecy using the same paint... usually i use valken zing or crusade, formula 13, stinger. so...isn't the best paint but is what i can get....
so...which one do you recommends me? thanks

I prefer Prophecy.

But either works fine. Prophecy holds more and is cheaper. Rotor is easier to disassemble and gets insane battery life.

My main beef with the Rotor is the fact that if you use Dye Locklid pods (I do), you cannot hold an ENTIRE pod in a Rotor unless it is empty and spinning. So when you refill, you dump a bunch of paint on the ground. Or you spend more than I spent for most of my markers buy getting the high capacity top. For tourney folks that don't pay their own way that's fine...but for me with just rec play, I'm not willing to have that.

placed order! etek 3 is on the way to my home.... so now...i need a loader....
been watching a few reviews of the rotor and the prophecy.... the rotor is a 187 balls loader as pbtech's mike reviewed on youtube.... and the prophecy it's a little higher profile... both around the same price...so i can't decide!!!
i like the rotor liquid olive and prophecy on smoke... maybe i can get both and try'em and then sell the one i don't like

Around the same price? Prophecy MSRP is $120, Rotor is $199. That's a $79 difference. In percentages, the Rotor is 65% more expensive.

I would deff get the Rotor.
-easy to take apart
-great battery life
-capacity is fine, dont need anymore than that
-smaller profile

I have never had any problems with the Rotor. Some people complain of jams but thats due to bad paint and messed up ball tention settings.

I LOVE my locklids. After being spoiled using them, I can't use anything else.

only thing i've ever found that locklids are good for, taking their tops off and putting them on pocket hoppers

I won't use ordinary pods. I've gotten so used to just moving my thumb down while bringing the pod up and it being open, that when I attempt to use ordinary pods my reload takes twice as long because I attempt to dump a closed pod into my hopper.

spoiled? iv had crap tons of issues with those, first the whole lid assembly wouldnt stay on a few of them, even after gluing it in place they fought me, contrary to their name if you look into how they function they dont actually "lock" closed at all, iv had a few pop open on me when sliding, they will fit in one of my NXe packs but not the other, and the most annoying thing is a few of them, even after pressing the thumb lever, refused to open! i had to knock them on my head or hopper to get it to pop open, annoying as hell, not the worst pods ever but they are up there on the suck-o-meter

Never had any of those issues in 10+ years of using them.

i still think they are just a bad design

if they were smaller so they could fit in most pod packs it would be nice and if they actually "locked" close it would be nice but as is, no

Yeah thats true. Most harnesses and best puches are designed for 140rd pods. I have the 150rd Proto Pods on a 6
1 Harness, and it is hard to put them inside and to take them out of the harness. It is just a marketing strategy: They show you this cool pods that are very easily opened BUT, if you want them to fit in your harness you will have to buy a special harness that only they (Dye) sells.

Marketing doesn't always work like you will want it to.

ya they work fairly well in one of my NXe packs but if i want them in the other one i have to fight them tooth and nail to get them in far enough so i can close the velcro, and then they have issues coming out (the lid assembly came off of one of them while pulling it out, they are too big to slide out on their own)

unfortunately the 4 up pack is the one i like better over the 3+2+2 and they work better in the 3+2+2

i really dont know how dye went through the R&D phase of those and didnt figure out that they were too big
