Cutting feedneck

Hey guys, i feel like I'm the new tlmiller in the making. I wanna buy be try about everything. I was almost sold on buying a prophecy z2. Instead I talked some sense into myself and said I don't need it and my halo works fine. What I hate most is the feedneck is way to long. If I where to cut it to be closer to the gun like the z2 would there be any negative effects? I plan on using a belt sander or pipe cutters.

I've done it with a hack saw and a dremmel before. I don't know if I would use a pipe cutter, the squeezing action may crack it, instead of cutting it. People cut halo feed necks all the time. Just be sure to leave enough that your feed neck has something to grip, while it's on your marker.

So a hack saw would be better then this http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/...psb2623a32.jpg I figured it would be better because it would be a perfectly even cut. (Not showing the option to post a picture for some reason). I plan on measuring it up once I get my gun back from Trbo tomorrow.

yeah, [ img ] code is turned off in this subforum for some reason. We should beat on Martix now that he's an admin to get him to fix that.

you act like I know how to mess with settings like that. They gave me a blue name and left me out on my own.

Question for you miller rotor or z2? I'm leaning towards the z2, I think it beats it in every category. Besides speed and battery life. What do you think of the to? I posted my halo on pbnation if I get enough ill ermine of the 2 if not ill make the too work.

right. there it is int he lower right corner.

I owned a prophecy and the darned thing was a pain to put back together. It also had some broken tabs on it. this leads me to believe that the rotor HAS to be more durable, because I swear i can pound in tent takes with mine. the only issue is that the rotor has a rather small capacity.

Z2 IMO. Jams less, holds more, just as low a profile. They also addressed the issues with taking the proph apart, putting it back together with the Z2. Much easier and faster now.

Halo Too is really good for the money. Durable shells compared to the older Halo/Reloaders and the Scion. Prophecy anti-jam freeway. If it had a rip drive and the tool less battery door like the Scion it would be the ultimate budget hopper. I still use mine on occasion, although I really need to get new shells some day as mine are as much jb weld as there is normal shell (slight exaggeration)

z2. the only thing about the z2 is it's hard finding a decent speedfeed that doesn't pop open if you land too hard on your dive. i've lost countless loaders of paint because the speedfeeds don't stay shut

compared to dead silence everything is loud. the rotor, unless you are within 10 feet of it on a normal field (with others shooting) you will not hear it. on a loud field you can not even hear it if you have it on your marker. for me, I like that it does that. i have had a few cases where the compressor at a field has kicked on and is roaring away and i was not paying enough attention to how much paint was left in the hopper. but when it free spins like that you can feel the vibrations through the grip frame, so then you know that you only have about 5 paintballs down the feedneck before you are absolutely out. that and when it is getting very low it will usually free spin for a second or 2 while it is searching for the last few balls in the hopper, if you feel that you also know you are very low

i have still never seen one or had mine jam (besides trying to feed the soup after a big fall) so idk why everyone says they jam, hasnt been my experience at all even with extremely small paint

I've seen many many issues in person in both MD and here in AZ. From initial release like mine to the latest and greatest parts.

Do the v3 rotors really have that many problems? I like looks rotor more but other then that I like the z2 a ton more. If I find one for $100 this weekend I'm buying it. Was able to sell halo locally for forty five. Never even used it lol. Once I get the z2, I should be set high end everything. Also my gun weighing two point. Pounds. Compared to a new dm weighing two point two will you even notice point four pounds difference? Sorry for typing numbers out number pad isn't working.

Other than not liking small paint that I've seen, the v3's have no major issues.

back the tension screw out a bit on the rotor (so it's not trying to feed like a top fuel dragster) and you're golden.

Maybe I will get a rotor, so I have all dye gear. (I'm not a fanboy) lol. Where do you guys see the rotor in 5 years? Still a top loader or a thing of the past?

in 5 years, it may not be as popular but those suckers will keep on running and running and running... Right now a lot of people are selling off rotors for the spire. I don't see the spire taking over the rotor, but it'll take a chunk into its sales.

I would get a spire but they cost to damn much. Spire is as good as it gets what more can you do to a hopper?

I'm sure they'll come up with something. Spire has finally retired all my other hoppers. I haven't used a single other hopper since buying my Spire (and I have a Z2 and an original Prophecy, Pinokio, Fasta 18V LED, Halo Too)
