prohecyz2 or rotor?

So i was playing last weekend with my mini, i dove into the snake and shattered the shell of my Halo Too i dont know how it happened but its far gone so im looking to get a new loader, im thinking about getting either the prohecy z2 or the rotor, so in your opinion which is better, what are the pros and cons of both

FYI in the Halo Too's defense it was severly used and abused when i got it, the shell was cracked in several places and it was just terrible but for getting it for $10 from a friend it wasnt a bad deal

Well, you could also look at getting new shells for the Too for like $30, or clearance ReloaderB shells can be had for $15.

Between the 2 you asked about though, I prefer the Z2. I had issues with my Rotor jamming with small paint badly. Both IMO are too small, I had to get the high cap shell to actually use either one (why Dye made a hopper that holds LESS than a Dye pod) though.

Yes, I have long since accepted that I have issues, with that said, here's:

I can't speak on the prophecy outside of stating that I know about as much about it as the hear-say that you'll find on any paintball forum. Some people love them...my local shop sells them but pushes other products instead as the guy who helps me has had one give out on him during a tournament..3x in the same day.

The rotor is a very very simple design with simple maintenance. The whole thing can be broken down and cleaned in minutes, and schlocked back together just as fast. I have two... Neither has given me jamming issues unless i was using old Valken Redemption or Valken Echo. Marbs, and all tourney paint I've shot works JUST fine. If I were asked "do you like your Rotor" I'd say yes. If asked to trade it out for something else - I'd be interested in trying a Spire and the new HK loader... but what I have works well for me.

My gripe about it is that you can't fit a pod of paint in it. If you know you should be Low paint, and want to reload before you start getting the wonderful "Whurrr of Misfortune" (been bunkered and tagged out more times due to this than anything) you'll have 10-30 rounds left in your pod. I know that seems like a small amount - but...

if we split the difference ( 10 + 30 = 40/2 = 20 rounds per pod) and multiply that by the 7 pod compliment I carry on an airball field... that's a pod of paint I"m dropping because my loader doesn't get full.

Oh - And the virtue $45 spring loaded speed feed? Love it. Have one on each hopper.

$45 for the virture spring arm speed feed is really steep, but holy crap, it's just about the best thing that's ever happened to paintball.

I'm starting to become annoyed with my spire. The paint can sometimes end up in the front of it, and even though iv'e got 1/2 a hopper left, I'm can't shoot anything. I've got that spring tray and it's completely useless.

If DYE comes out with a rotor with better capacity, (and isn't the size of the large capacity shell, I tried that and hated it) I'll go back to it. I never had feeding issues with my rotor unless the paint was badly mishapen, or I had put it together improperly. The reason everyone jumped to the spire isn't because the rotor sucks, it's because it just doesn't hold enough paint to be useful.

new shells, and get the black ones not the colored ones, they are the tougher ones.

beyond that i say rotor, but honestly both are fantastic hoppers, I own a rotor and would like to also get my hands on a z2, I also have a reloader B as a backup, no real gripes with it other than its old and a pain to take apart good tech in both but if you are looking for something that can take a beating, rotor. Mine took a 6ish foot dive straight onto concrete and was a hard enough impact to take some anno off of my ASA as well as slightly bend the tip if my CF barrel (didnt chip, bent, it was strange) I didnt even know my rotor hit the ground until the next game when it wouldnt feed, turns out it broke 5 or 6 balls on the inside the impact was so hard, it was trying to feed still, but it was already soup in there, nothing that was the hoppers fault. I looked at it a little closer and noticed a few scuffs on the side where it hit that I didnt see before

you are smoking something, the hopper will hold more than 160 which is what the dye pods (that suck) supposedly hold

My count on my rotor came out to 190, I have never had a problem with capacity even when I was using the loc lids, I have heard other people say 185. Either way, its not too small by my standards

small paint, Iv never had an issue, when I was playing with huckduck a while back I was shooting some of the smallest paint I have ever come across, I was using the 679 insert for my freak kit and could have still used a smaller insert, rotor never skipped a beat

guys on my team use hicap rotors with pinokiopods... they get through an x-ball point with 4 of those pods.

and yeah, i've never ever had issues with my rotor unless it was the paint's fault.
