mini questions

I am now hopefully a proud owner of an Invert Mini. I have a few possible noob questions below.

1. Can dry firing (to break in) hurt the marker? I’ve heard after a tank or two of firing, kick is greatly reduced (spring gets broken in).

2. I was hoping to get a better explanation of dwell time, BIP Delay, and Ramping Point. (changes that worked for you, insert magazine) The manual does a poor job in my opinion of explaining these options and what they do.

3. Any other “tweaks” or something you did to increase performance?

4. Is there any easy way to differentiate between v1 and v2? I heard the v1’s had some type of issue. The number on the back of mine is 015193.

5. When "locking in" the hopper do you leave a gap or push it all the way in?

APG's November Magazine had an excellent article on the Mini, which finally made me purchase. They mentioned their team reduced dwell time from the default 28 down to 24 (7 milliseconds down to 6 milliseconds) which greatly reduced blowback and increased air efficiency.

I’ve noticed the low number of Mini threads, maybe a good and bad thing. Thanks all!

1. Dry firing should not hurt it. As it takes 3-5 tanks of air to fully set the spring. Using paint to do this, unless playing could get expensive, unless you are actually playing.

2. Anyone correct me if I am wrong, but dwell is the duration of time the noid is active and allowing air to fire the ball. The BIP is the amount of time the ball has to be in the breach befor the eyes allow you to fire. Ramping point is the amount of BPS you have to reach before the ramp setting activates. Example is: you must pull the trigger at arate of 5 Balls Per Second before the ramp mode kicks in to make up the differnce to get to 15 BPS.

3. Possibly a new bolt. I have no infromation as to what kind of tweak this will get you. A local team is trying the New Designz bolt and will let me know how it is. When I know I will post some info on it. As for the Orange Morphine Bolt...IDK. The marker is plenty fast out of the box so IMO a new board is not needed at this time. A good Barrel. A freak...Evil Pipe...Empire Revolver...Its up to you.

4. As I heard V1's had alot of problems, but were solved with the V2's. As for what serial numbers indicate V2's, you would have to call INVERT.

5. push your hopper all the way in.

I have not made any adjustments to my INVERT so how the dwell affects anything is still unknowen to me. The Invert mini is still relativally new so give it time to get the verdict out. I just got mine and put 4000 rounds through and it runs great right out of the box.

Thanks for the detailed response!

I've shot some reballs thru it and everything seems to work fine, no leaks, etc. Out of the box it was shooting a bit hot, but that was an easy fix. I plan on doing some shooting this weekend.

How often do you lube?

Let me know how they make out with the new bolt.

this is gonna sound stupid but i was reading the manual and it said nothing about oiling the mini because so many different oils can mess the gun up..so do you have to oil the gun and if so where?(im not talking about lubeing it)

No, all you really need is shocker lube, SP Sleek, or Hater Sauce. And all you lube is the O-Rings. I also put a small amount on the bolt where it touches the bolt spring.

KEE suggests that you lube the o-ring on the bolt and guide only when you see a drop in performance.
