chopping paint when bps setting changed

I recently got around to changing the factory setting of 15bps (or whatever it comes at) down to 12.5 bps which is the allowable rate at most of my local fields. Since making the change though, I've been chopping a ton of paint and I'm not knowledgeable enough about the marker to know why this is happening. Do I have to change another setting (ie Dwell) when I change my bps setting so that everything synchs up, or can you think of anything else I may be doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your ideas guys!

I changed it from ramping to regular semi-auto and changed bps from 15 to 12.5. I ran through all the settings and checked with the manual to make sure I was reading the blinking lights correctly, and I'm pretty sure everything else is good. What should Dwell typically be set at? Factory says 38 so I'm assuming thats where mine is.

If its not a setting...can you think of any other reasons why I would be chopping paint or having them jam up in the marker? Thanks again!
