yeah....that....except you should clean it first, preferably with a relatively lint free cloth.

yeah, what he said ^^^ when i used my spyder, i watcsed all my internals with water and squeegeed the body out. then i dried it all and applied new oil and put it back together. also, add the oil in the asa and dryfire a few.

I take it apart like the schematic they give you, and wash the actual body. I use a wet cloth for all the outer peices, and w/ warm water rinse the internals. DONT touch the valve though. You have to put it in the right way.

^^^^ yes, remember which way the valve is facing when you take it out. i dont know about spyders, but piranhas have 2 different colored o rings to help you remember.

How would oil, gone into the ASA, get into the frame? The frame is a seperate part, the only way it would be able to get into the frame, would be through the sear, and thats a tight fit. Mind you, the oil would hafta go through the line, through the expansion chamber or gas thru grip, and then past the valve then past the striker. There is no way if you put the oil in the ASA, it would make it to the frame, so dont worry about it.

I think they mean that the ol will work its way up through the asa to the macroline/steel hose, and then into the body of the gun.

lol. Oil can get into the frame. Theres no tight fit on the sear, and oil in fact does go through the line, ex-chamber, then past the valve and into the internals, thats the reason you oil it in the first place.

But, a small amount of oil on your frame is not the end of the world. With regular maintenace and such, there should be no problems. Oh, and Electro-spyders don't have fancy solenoids that can be screwed up by oil, so go ahead.

yes you can dry fire and it will circulate the oil through the gun. Put a little vaseline on the bolt. i find it shoots a LITTLE faster (not very noticeble) and is cheaper than using the expensive oil. you should still use that oil for dry firing though.

i dont recommend putting vaseline on any gun, unless it is recommended by the manufacturer.

and if a $3 bottle of paintball gun oil is too much money, you need to get out of paintball.

(sorry matt32)

What I was trying to say was, by the time that the oil got through it all, there wouldnt be hardly any left to actually do damage to the frame. I oil my gun all the time, never had oil go "into" the frame. I have taken off my frame, and there was a ring of oil on the top of it, but thats about it. Never had any oil go into my frame. Only time anything went into my gun, was water, and my gun locked up. SO I left it sitting for like 2 days. Just saying, dont worry about oil going into the frame, wont happen, that much, but like tmaxx said, oil dosent affect the solenoid, so your set.
