Do I need an electric hopper?

I've got a Spyder X-tra. I intend to keep it for awhile. I mostly play woodsball with friends. Nothing major. But I want the marker to fire as fast as I can pull the trigger. Am I asking too much, or is this something that is possible only with an electo hopper. I read on a thread somewhere in "here" that unless I wanted to fire over 10 bps, I didn't need an electro. Does anyone recommend an electro. Not a Halo or anything, that would cost triple what my marker is worth. I just want to pull the trigger and not have to worry about breaks.

well, u have a mechanical gun. Now, if u want to truly get the most speed u will doubtlessly upgrade to a electronic frame down the road (i think oldfatbulldog is selling a busted one cheap). And then u'll need a electric hopper. It's still good to get one now, so that u don't have to mess around w/ gaps of balls from standard hoppers.

Yeah, you'll definatly need to get an e-frame. Then most of those are capped at 13 or 14 bps. If you start shooting faster i'd go for t-board w/eyes.

With an e-frame you'll be good with an Empire Reloader as a hopper. With the t-board i'd go for an Egg, Hhalo, or Reloader B.

if you keep you mech trigger. go out and buy a quantum...yes it's cheap and yes they wont' work for anything but mechs but if you stick with your current set up it'll suit you perfectly.

A quantum, eh? I'll check it out. I like cheap, as you can see (Spyder X-tra).

A revvy will work perfectally. Get a revvy for it you will love it I promise. You are also good with your gravity fed hopper also.

revy is overkill if all he sticks with is the mech trigger. qunatum is cheap and works very well with mechs. feeds balls fast enough for less price.

iv you can find a revy cheap though I'd get that over the quantum...

^agreed. Quantums feed no more then 9bps. A revvy can do 11/12bps easy. And it's only like $20 more.

Actually 8 bps Empire Reloaders are a good option too. They can feed 12-14 bps.

So, is quantum the manufacturer or the model name. I looked at a few sites but didn't ever see any. I found an extreme rage electric that claimed to load 9bps and it was like $19. Is this thing junk or something.? What's up with the price. And, I don't think I can pull the trigger that fast (over 9 bps) anyway. Maybe if I replaced the trigger spring and shortened the pull, I could. (I just realized there is a hopper section to this forum! Sorry guys.

the only "cheap" hopper worth getting is a revvy (a x-boarded revolution by viewloader) or reloader II

It's made by Viewloader.

BUT..and I keep bringing this up, since it's a mech and will forever stay a mech, wouldn't it be worth saving 20 bucks? it's not like the quantum is worse, just feeds balls slower.

I saw a kid at a field one time and he had a Quantum. It was originally clear but by the end of the day it was blue cause it broke so many balls in there. I would just go with an xboarded revvy or an empire reloader. If you don't upgrade to electro disregard this and look into getting a Quantum, although I don't know how reliable they are.

2 huge problems with a quantum and they are both cuased by one thing.

Problem 1: Breaking balls in hopper.

Problem 2: Constant LOUD whirring noise that reveals your location to the whole entire world (barring the deaf) throughout each game.

Both of these problems are caused by the constant agitation system of the Quantum loader.

I fell prey to the allure of a $30.00 agitated hopper. It is now someone else's baby because i sold it.

DO NOT GET A QUANTUM !!

Also you'll need to keep shaking the hopper so the balls will feed right, or else it doesn't feed at all.
