Do you need Spyder 9.6v battery?

So I just bought a used 05 spyder electra acs. It has a regular 9v in it and i was wondering if it needed a spyder rechargeable one. I have seen people say it does and people say it is doesn't matter. So I just want to know. Also where would I get one I cant find them for sale anywhere?

Can't say for sure that it requires one. However, if you want to run one, any NiMH 9.6v will do. My preferred is the MAHA 9.6v 230 MAH low self-discharge

Imedion 9.6V 230mAh (1-Pack) - Maha Energy

Can be found for a decent price if you look, and much more power than the Spyder branded one.

Used to have one of those. You CAN use a regular 9v, they just die a lot faster, and aren't really dead when it stops firing in the gun, you can use it to power toys a bit longer.

I ended up using Soshine 9.6v

Use a 9.6. while a 9v does work you are constantly under volting the board and I have been told that can eventually damage it.

In a pinch I would throw a 9v in to keep playing but I would normally play with a 9.6 in place
