Meals ready to eat --- three lies for the price of one..

They are a lot better now then when I was in the army. The chicken ala king was good I remember, but the "beef and tomato product" was allways the one you tried to trade away.

I also love the little bottles of tobasco in them... Yummy!

MRE's are very good. Some people say they are bad, but I have to disagree. When I was in scouts, we had a leader that worked at a surplus store, so we ate them a lot.

I might take them with me when I go back packing next week, but they're big/heavy.

Noodles > all in camping.

full thruth alpha i've said the same thing many many times. i'd take an mre over school food any day. mabye its just us mil type guys, but i love em!

the only ones i don't like as much are the ones that have like a full slab of meat in em, those tend to be a tad dry. beef stew, thi chicken, enchalada, chilli and mac n. cheese. oo good stuff. get those crackers with the jalapeno cheese spread. damn i want one...

Our school went on a 4 day camping trip on a mountain for some random project, and we had to eat MRE's. Chicken and noodles > all

They're excellent to have when you don't have to carry them...

I used to take them backbacking with me all the time, just take all the stuff out of the big rubber bag, and put it in a ziplock bag. Makes them more compact, and I think the weight is well worth it. I like Ramen, but no amount of Ramen will fill me up after hiking 20 miles with a 50 pound pack on. MRE's are worth every ounce.

And yeah, i have probably about 20 of them in my closet.

send me some, i'm out and i'm too poor to buy more at 5 bux each...

one thing not to do, is just eat them on a regular basis...don't forget that they're designed to be eaten out in the feild where you're going to be burning those 2k+ calories that it has in it...
