Building a comp. Advice plz

Well, since i have pretty much no knowledge on how to build one, i've come to u pbf nerds for some help . I pretty much clicked around on newegg for a good 2 hours and came up w/ this. My goal is to keep it under say $800 tops for all the main components, minus the monitor.

the case:http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...138-042&depa=0
an ASUS motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...131-513&depa=0
video, ATI, think this should be big enough and uptodate to get me high 30s in most games: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...102-331&depa=0
AMD 64bit: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...103-484&depa=0
tips for me?

Don't go with Asus.
3 Seperate Mainboards by Asus from 3 different customers have MELTED/Shorted out/Stopped working completely.
Also, you might want to go with a board with at least one PCI Express slot. In the future, the'll come in quite handy.

Asus is fine retards. I use Asus boards in 3 of the computers in my house, along with an Abit. Asus is by far one of the best motherboards you can get for the money.

It's not hard at all if you have half a brain. So for half of this forum it's impossible.

^ exactly proph3t. asus mobo's are fine, they just aren't one of my personal favorites, i'm an msi fan. you guys seen the fatality mobo? omfg its the pimpness!

the 939 is the socket that you want to go for, the older 754 i think it is is getting phased out in favor of the 939's. whats really pimp is intel's new setup where the cpu is pinless.

That Fatal1ty board is ****ING EXPENSIVE, though... True, it is pimp, but the price tag reflects that.

Prophet's right, Asus kicks ass. I've built 5 or 6 comps using their motherboards (actually, the same one you're getting) and they were fine. Really nice boards for the price, they work great.

One I kept (built for myself), one I built for my dad as a Christmas present, and I sold the rest.

Half an hour to put together, another half an hour to install XP and other software.

Price ranged from $300 or so to about $550.

*Edit* If you want a comp, but don't want to build it yourself, talk to me. I usually charge more to build it for someone, but I'll sell you one at cost plus the price of shipping. www.enigmaempire.com or e-mail us at [email protected] Sorry for the crappy site, I've had no time to work on it.
