Do you go to 'shows' or 'concerts'?

Personally I like to go to concerts, you know more focused on the music side of things. It angers me when I hear all the trendy people at my dorm constantly saying "hey do you got to shows?" or "are you going to the show? (insert name here) is going too and all his friends are gonna be there... etc. etc." And it's obvious by listening to the way they talk about it that they aren't really going there for the music. Now I will say that it's often a emo or screamo band (or pop variations) that typically are referred to as 'shows', but it can be anything really. For instance, I heard some girl and a metrosexual guy talking about the band Emery, and while talking about the 'show' they went to, they said nothing about the music, but only about how hot the main singer and keyboarder was, and how they got autographs and *shock* talked to the band members. Now this is all fine and dandy... wait what am I saying no it's not. So I'm going to say that if your going to a 'show' than your obviously going for the visual aspect, am I right? I guess I'm just missing the point there. Well, reguardless, STOP GOING TO SHOWS .

Have a nice day

I hate going to shows most of the time because im too impatient. Usually there is only one band I want to see and in my opinion its not worth it for me to wait through three or four crappy bands to see the one I like. I'd rather save the money. Every once and a while I'll go to a show I really like. This summer I'm seeing DMB at the meadows muisc theater, Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd together in August. On the 28th I'm going to Righteous jams, colin of arabia, slapshot and shoot to kill. Its a hell of a line up so I wont be bored for a second.

see, i went to real 'shows'. For free in peoples basements. It was all word of mouth and everyone was friends and all the bands were friends with eachother and the crowd. it was awesome. People would go in the back yard, smoke dope with eachother, drink and shoot the **** and then go down for a wicked set and everyone was into it.

(wtf.. why dont image tags work)

notice the wires and **** hanging from the roof. and the truses with nails.

thats me hair and naked shoulder

Never gone to a concert..don't really see a point

I would have to say if i did go to one, I'd be there for the "show" as you'd call it. Honestly, if you just want the music, its not hard at all to buy/download their cd or go get live copies from one of their concerts if live music is your thing. Sure, I can understand you want to hear the music, but without something else to it there really isn't much of a point to spend the money on a ticket.

I go to shows, for the music. I hate all the emo kids there tho. All they do is stand around while everyone is moshing/dancing. Looks boring to me.

I go to shows, but I go for th e music. Shows is easier to say than concerts. My band plays shows...mainly because a concert sounds like (to me) something Metallica plays in an arena. We play in basements and little local venues, so I call them shows.

I agree with this. <$30 is a show. $100 dollar ticket to see Metallica or Green Day is a concert.

But whatever, I'm a trendy scenester emo kid.
