Are you going for Horde or Alliance, and are you going to join an RP, PVP, or PVE server? (Out of curiosity)

The biggest tips that I can offer are as follows:
-If you're playing a Warrior or Rogue, it's very important to keep your equipment requirement level equal to your character level.
-Don't spend too much time grinding; A combination of doing quests and random killing associated with or performed while doing the quests will make you level up much faster.
-Quest with others if possible, and never hesitate to ask for help on tough elite quests. Just make sure you don't team up with a ninja
-Do instance runs like no tomorrow, you get great experience, loot, and some very nice quest rewards. If you're playing Alliance, run Deadmines when you're level 20-30. If Horde, run Ragefire Chasm at the same levels.

That is all.

Ragefire is about 5-8 lvl's lower than DM.

You might want to roll a preist though, since you will get into almost any group you want.

And save your money.

pallys and warlocks get free mounts (that cost other claees 90 gold) just something to think about. there never seems to be enough locks either..

hunter is a relatively simple class that will do very high DPS. people hate them or love them. I know that my guild loves them frot he DPS they can do in high level instances
