Best. Mouse. Evar. *Pics*

My dad just picked up one today for $80: A Logitech MX1000 Laser Cordless.

OMG this thing is pure secks. Extremely comfortable and smooth, true laser operation, rechargable batteries, on top of a sideways-tilt scroll wheel, CRUISE CONTROL BUTTONS!!!, and even buttons that let you go back & forward through web pages, and control which browser window you currently have open.

It gets me off just making my cursor roll back and forth. If you have $80 to drop on a mouse, you can't go wrong with one of these. I will never go back to an analog mouse, ever.

I believe they're working on a model with a nacho cheese dispenser.

I heard that one has reflectors on it so you can go jogging at night with it.

I just read on the box that this thing has 5.6 megapixel image processing capability (That's twice my digital camera!) and scans at 800dpi. Wow.

Everyone needs one of these.

My $7.98 mouse works fine. It's a laser mouse, but isn't cordless and has a scroll wheel. My last mouse was awesome but it died on my. That had the tilting scroll wheel and was cordless too.

I would never spend $80 on a fricken mouse though. Maybe if I sat at my computer all day and played PC games, but I don't. Plus, I could always steal one of the mouses from the library at my school, which are suprisingly nice.

Are you sure it's an actual laser mouse, and not an optical mouse? If your mouse puts off red light onto your desk, then it's an optical mouse... and there IS a difference in performance between the two.

Then it would be optical I guess, but what's the difference? Can't be much worse than a laser.

It's not much worse, but laser is better on any surface compared to optical. For example, I can run my mouse across my keyboard, and my carpet, and the cursor will move seamlessly. If you were to try that with an optical or an analog, your results would be different. Also, I've noticed that optical has slight problems with glossy and dark surfaces.

Mouse balls > * Never try to shoot one as a pb though. IT WILL fit in your breech, but not come out of the barrel.

big deal. my $15 microsoft optical mouse lets me scroll back and forth between web pages, and i have cruise control. and $65 more in my wallet. and i wont lose it cuz its cordless.

and the performance is imperceptible between laser and optical when on a mousepad.
