very neat...i know you'd never tell but with the lock, was it a REAL "Masterlock" type lock...or a "special" one.

Lock style was chosen to fit the time period of the Jail Cell. It was also examined by by Texas Highway Patrol, and Gonzales Fire Dept. who found it to be ungimmicked.

"Masterlock" is a brand, and not a very good one at that.

Probably because if he can brake out of a jail cell (most likely more difficult than a materlock) than it would lead him to be biased enough to think masterlocks are bad or under average locks.

EDIT: Not trying to make armo sound cocky

Locking mechanisms aren't the best. They are kind of a dime by the dozen padlock. As far as locks go there are plento of other brands and companies that are much better. Folger Adams for instance makes jail locks, and very good ones at that.

How did I not see that comming?

On another note:

I'm in the planning stages of another escape, more dangerous this time however.

Think 100 feet of rope, chair, middle of road, speeding car, split second escape.

i dont think they put you in a straightjacket when you get arrested...and a contemporary jail cell lock would probably take a longer time to pick than one from the time period of the one in the video.

but nevertheless...sweet.

That was pretty sweet. But I'm afraid you're going to have to tell us how you got that lock open in like 5 seconds.
