It smells just like summer

Do you associate summer with a particular smell? They say memories are most influenced by smell.. Every time I think or smell a certain aroma, I think of summer.. Its like fresh, clean, warm, freedom and laundry.

The smell of the ocean/beach, the smell right before it rains, smell of freshly cut grass all smell like summer to me.

yeah i know.. the weather has been SO weird lately.. its usually in the low 20's, and even gets into the 10's around this time of januaray, but its been in the 40's, 50's , 60's. i usually enjoy cold weather, but for some reason i just am sick of it.. i like having the window open, no snow, no wetness outside, no dryness, none of that... i want to walk home in shorts and a t-shirt or at least jeans and a t-shirt.. i hope these next 2 months go by fast.

This year has been really weird. We got some snow a while ago but it has been very warm for this time of year for the past couple weeks. But yeah, I know what you are talking about with the smell thing. I don't know what it is but summer definately does have a smell to it, and for me I always associate it with a camp that I go to, because that is my favorite week of the year, every year, and my favorite place to be.

Normally this time of year, I have a few feet of snow, and am out on the snowmobiles everyday. This "winter" it has been below freezing twice in about a month. And on sunday it's gonna be about 55 degrees! I'm hatin' it!

And yeah, it does smell like summer, and the grass is still green. I need the cold smell of winter within the next few weeks, or I'm gonna end up cold-deficient.

I smell winter, not summer.

I might smell summer as it comes this year, I just notice winter a lot easier than summer.

My work reminds me of summer. It's a famous resturant in my city, right beside the beach, so lots of customers, and I spend a majority of my summer there.

oh yeah, songs and bands always remind me of certain times of the year. like Leftover Crack reminds me of last may when my friend was going to see them... and then choking victim reminds me of this one night over the summer where my friend told me their whole story..

Summer smells like saltwater and gasoline to me. But that's just because I spend 90% of my summer on a boat every year.

Hah! I wish it rained in summer here. But it's so damn hot that the rain condenses, falls, then evaporates before hitting the ground :nododgy:

I'm with you on that one Kat. here in the midwest winter has a distinct smell and you can tell if it's gonna snow by looking to see what the clouds look like.

and your'e right..it's does have a faint smell of spring this winter not real strong, but it's there. It makes me warn and happy inside because winter is just plain bad, especialyl after all this realyl nice weather.

I get that too, only from my last summer, it was an epic one.

I also like the smell of wet cement.

summer smells like beer for me.. and camp fire.

i like when you smell the perfume that an old girlfriend used to wear. It brings back SO many memories. I dont really remember the first few anymore..

I work in a building that I went to cubs (younger scouts) in like 12 years ago, the day i came in to drop my resume off I remembered the smell and memories instantly. so weird.

Yeah, that's true. Went to pick up my little brother from my old elementary school. Tons of memories came back. Oh, and it was TINY compared to how big I remembered it being.
