got $500 for a new computer. help me find one!

soooo ive got around 500 bucks for a new comp. my laptop is all ****ed up (pretty old)....ummm id be using it for gaming and just other regular stuff. nothin to specialized. ive been lookin around,ill post some links in a bit. help me out

I don't know too much about building computers, but I don't see the point of going AMD unless you're willing to put a lot of money into it.

Because AMD is cheaper and comparable in performance/better.

As TonyD said, an AMD Athlon 64 running at 2.x GHz will do the same work as a Pentium IV running at 3.x, for a cheaper price.

Plus it's been proven that AMD processors are much better at handling gaming. Just Google for a few benchmark tests and you'll concur.
