So I bought a new motor this morning...

Picked up a 400sb...already been bored .30 over...needs to be re-honed (sp?). I picked up the block, and some other stuff...brand new crank...a set of new TRW double reliefs forged pistons on eagle forged rods. Paid 300 bucks also came with some other stuff water pump...oil pan.

hmmm this will be going in my 89 iroc...gonna drop the 700r4 for a turbo 350...gonna keep it for a daily driver....gonna end up going with some open chamber heads to keep the compression down. Ive used Lunati cams so im gonna stick with them try out the voodoo this go-round...something around a 276/284. Not sure on the top half yet...intake/carb and heads. hmm but yea

watch out, idk your car, but you might piss off the ECM, especially with a cam with that much duration.

Yupp, shes got the stock 5.7L TPI and a 700r4...good setup...but not enough. I was gonna HSR the 350 and beef up the 700r4 a little and put it in an older S10 and keep the camaro as a weekend ride...not sure though...one step atta time

And this is gonna be your daily driver? that thing prolly goes thru 2 or 3 dead dinosaurs a week. Take it from a guy that uses a Muscle Car as a daily driver, get a commuter car for a dailey driver. Im keeping the pony for the weekends but I want to get something like a Geo Metro for daily driving.

sounds like fun man. i'm really getting tired of not having a decent car.

anybody want to buy an 85 bmw 318i? runs good, awesome for a v8 or straight 6 swap!

friend of mine on another forum just supercharged his 99 pontiac grand prix. had all the s/c parts custom powercoated this sexy kandy burnt orange color.

Actually that cam is perfect for that combo. I've been looking into 406 combos and a 276 (adv) duration cam with around 9.75:1 comp is perfect. As long as he has some decent flowing heads he will be good. 450hp is in the bag with aftermarket heads that comp and cam, more compression would allow a bigger cam but it will be less streetable. A solid can get you 500hp at the crank but valve lash is a ***** in a daily driver..
