buying a good, insurance friendly, car for me

i need a car that has these conditions...

1. insurance friendly, i will be paying for it.
2. good gas mileage.
3. i dont need super fast, but i dont want to be going 40 on the highway, so just something a little peppy i suppose.
4. under or around 5 grand.

a 4-door car... My brother got a Focus. The insurance is expected to drop from about 300 to 200 a month. Insurance around here is high due to retards burning houses/cars to collect.

if good fuel mileage is your first priority, i know of 3 cars that are real cheap that great mileage

1. toyota celica (33mpg)
2. saturn SL (36 mpg)
3. ford escort (38 mpg)

and you can find a decent one of those for about $2000

If you want good gas mileage and low insurance, "peppy" will not be in the equation. Look for four doors, and four cylinders and you'll find what fits your criteria.

Stock LS motor on a Hatch will run 15's and get great gas mileage and low insurance.

He could easily find a Hatch with an LS in it.

Actually even the D15 and 16s are not too shabby. Lil bit peppy, I drove a CRX SI with a stock d16 and it was a blast.
