CS:s safety.

I'm not back, i just needed a few answers to this and i don't wanna sign up for a cs forum just to ask this.

My dad is under the constant impression (i do think he's right tho) that one game (CSS) will slow down our comp. but... last spring he bought a external harddrive...40 gigabytes. And slammed up all our important **** on it incase our computer got hacked, blown up, etc. And i was thinking about getting CSS and installing it onto the external harddrive so it wouldnt' slow down our comp but i'm worried that if i do install it to the EH that when i playing css online our important files won't be safe. Is this true?

Thank ya.

Well my dad won't let me install one onto our normal harddrive no matter what, if it's safe he'll let me fill up our external one.

It's not going to do anything bad on the main HD... Leave it. If it blows up, your dad has his precious files on the external.

w00t...now i got an expensive problem.

The installment and everything went fine... my computers not an IED, but, there's always a but I have the gayest] problem ever. When i started it up it said that my video stuff didn't meet the minimum requirements, i thought oh, the pixels will be bigger or the graphics won't be as good, no big deal...i'd like to have bad graphics compared to this ****. It plays at 9 you read correctly nine FPS. soo...i updated my video driver, didn't do dog ****. And after reading up on the cs;s forum (haven't gotten verification from a mod to become a member yet) i beleive i need a new video card...and i got like 70 bux as of friday... i tink i'm going to get one used but still i gotta sell all my pb **** which i have procastonated to do since like august 15th.

If you got any thing i can do about the videocard mines a Gaytel P.O.S. (better known as Intel 82865g.

Thanks if you can help.

Edit: But i REALLY don't wanna have to spend 100-150 bux on css, i'm not a serious gamer but i will spend some. If you can help me fix it without getting a new video card i'd love you long time. If you prefer...

there's really no way of not getting a new vid card. So... Just look at the requirements and go get the cheapest ATI or Nvidia card that you can find.( That also meets the requirements of CSS.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...6106&CatId=318 that could run CS:S. It's not the cheapest of cheap card on the market, but it's not a bad deal for the price.

You don't want to play css at 15 fps, it will suck and you'll get owned over and over again.

Your best luck would just be picking up a new video card. Try ebay. My friend has a Geforce fx 5500 or something like that and it'll play Source pretty decent. For more CS questions you could always go to www.forumplanet.com/counterstrike , one of us there can tell you.

a geforce 5200fx will run CSS at a decent frame rate, mine does. Be warned however that you wont be able to play anything like battlefield 2 without reserving the time to cry for two hours afterwards.
