new mids for the blazer

so i was browsing around circuit city last night and ran across a clearance table with some infinity mids on it so i dug around a bit and found some 4x6s and they were only 50 bux so i grabbed em up and headed to the check out

ok so i got the infinity reference series 4x6 model # 6412cfp
rms 45w max 135w
4"x6" 2-way plate speakers (pair)
Plus One+ poly woofer cone with hi-roll rubber surround
edge-driven silk dome tweeter
power range: 2-45 watts RMS (135 watts peak power)
frequency response: 72-21,000 Hz
sensitivity: 91 dB
top-mount depth: 1-15/16"

I am replacing a set of clarion 4x6s model # src4615
(only specs i could find )
rms 25w max 100w
* 4 x 6 Mica-Injected Polypropylene Woofer Cone
* 1" Metallized PEI Balanced-Drive Tweeter With Neodymium Magnet
* Powerful Strontium Magnet for Dynamic Bass Response
* 100-Watt Maximum Music Power

side by side pic comparison

upon first hanlding of the 2 the infinity has a much heavier magnet and has a smoother cone movement even right out of the box

now as you can see the infinity looks alot better than the clarions

but how do they sound well they sound absolutly amazing i am really happy with em there is a lot more highs coming through now and alot stronger mid-range aswell

these have a very wide frequency range so you pick up alot more sound from these and i am hearing stuff in songs that i havent before
i will be replacing my 6.5"s in the back with a set of these next week and i will post up a thread on em too

so if your looking for some good mids i would definatly check these out you wont be dissapointed

oh and i also picked up a CB radio too lol i do alot of interstate driving so i though it would be cool to have one and it should help with knowing where the cops are too

i had a set in my sierra, they blew because my girlfriend ****ed them up. Circuit City doesnt even sell them anymore here. So i went with the Polk 4x6s and i like they way they sound more anyway. Those were nice speakers though. Regular $90 so you got a good deal

Great deal on those speakers, they look nasty compared to the old ones. Good call with the CB too, its one of my next purchases for the jeep. How much did it run you? What kind of antenna are you running?

there is a mod for 4runners where u can mount that type CB in where the ash trey normaly is. Doubt it will work on a blazer w/ that slider under the dash.
