Broken Tire lug=bad

So yea, Here's the story. My dad looked at my truck this morning and told me that I had lost a hubcap. I just figured it was from the snow and crap weather we got yesterday, and from me driving before they had plowed most roads. well, My rear drivers side tire also has a small, very slow leak in it. This just happens to be the hubcap I lost. So I pull it into the garage today, about to fill my tire back up. I go over to the tire, and look. I see only 5 lug nuts, but six holes. I was like wtf? And it wasnt just the lug nut thats gone. Its the entire bolt itself. Bolt, lug, its all gone, it appears to have broken off right at the brakedrum. Add on to that that the nut across from it was about half an inch from touching the rim, and the fact that the rest of the nuts are probably loose, its not a good situation. I am extremely glad that I checked it today, becuase having a tire fall off is not good. And of course my dad will think its becuase I was doing donughts and such, but honestly I wasnt. Hell, I was doing everythign I could to keep my damn truck on the road even in 4 wheel drive.

Now, I imagine Im going to have to replace the whole assembly that the bolts come off of(dont know what its called), plus, I was about to order a new radiator. The radiator is $200, and i know the bolt part wont be cheap. Im basically screwed. If I cant get my dad to lend me the money to fix it, its not even worth fixing becuase I wont have any money for gas . And Its not like im some tard who didnt save any money, I had $800 set aside for gas money at the beginning of november. Im down to about $450 now, and spending ~$50 every other week. 13mpg sucks Right now Im just waiting for our upstairs tenant(he's our mechanic) to get home before I touch anything. And if you're wondering, I drive a 1992 chevy 1500 extended cab with a 4.3l.

tl;dr: Tire lug broke off, Dont have money to replace it+my radiator and still have gas money, so im screwed.

oh a new drum? My parents avalance had crappy brakes that ruined the brake drums. they were expensive, but i dont' think it'll brake your wallet too badly. However, get the radiator first and see if your parents will help you out bit with the wheel.

Yea i talked to my dad and he said that we could just replace the lug. I was going to dance, then remember I still had to buy a radiator. I think we're just gonna take it off the road for week or two and get it all working good again. 231k miles takes a toll on a vehicle.

I just hope this thing lasts me till the summer. Then I'm either going to sell it and put a downpayment on a newer-ish vehicle or depending on insurance keep it for a winter beater and pick up some nice american muscle

Hells yes they are. It's so much fun not caring about your vehicle.

$500 vehicles FTW!

EDIT: I drove my dad's winter beater car(1992 mercury tracer) for a while this summer while we got my truck on the road. one of my friends nicknamed it the Little red ferrari becuase it's such a beast .

Yea, we picked up another lug and its on. Right now we're checking out what a radiator costs a junkyard, and then we're gonna decide if we'll go new or used. Becuase there's no point in spending $150 on a junkyard radiator thats used when you can get a brand new one that you KNOW is good for $200. We'll have to see.
