Custom .22 cal Air Rifle

So, with the RPM Odyssey that I won off of eBay, it also came with a spare body AND 3-way valve
I know of a site to get the ram, ram sleeve, poppet and valve, etc. from, and to trip the 3-way valve, I'll probably use a spare Spyder clapper noid that I have laying around

My plan is to chop the top tube off, and use the hole in the body that connects to the poppet valve and attach that port directly to the air rifle barrel

After getting all that done, I would love to put it in a cool stock, and after looking around the new for stocks, I was thinking, I could probably get a pretty good stock off an airsoft gun for a decent price!
WELL MB05 AWM APS2 Airsoft Sniper Rifle - MB05 Airsoft Sniper Rifle - AirSplat.com - AirSoft Gun Warehouse

I'm planning on using this, and this site has it the cheapest (as far as I could find)
Hopefully I can also use the barrel shroud, trigger, and possibly the bolt action from this as well!

I have a good feeling about this!

As for the reason I would like to do this build, my old .22 cal pump air rifle finally broke its main pump seal, and with it being older than I am, it would be very difficult to get it fixed (an old S&W air rifle). So, I plan on taking only the barrel from the broken air rifle, and making the rest of it from paintball/airsoft parts so that I can take it to our property and not freak out the neighbors! For those of you who do not shoot, or do not shoot regularly, you would be surprised how loud the humble .22LR is!

So, any thoughts on the build?

The land we have is "residential" anyways, so even if it was quieter, we would not be allowed to shoot firearms

Where I usually go is in the bottom of a small canyon, so sound really doesn't dissipate as well as if I were on flat open ground

Texas is real gun friendly, but when people live within rock throwing distance, bullets don't sound very good, or feel very good for that matter
I am limited to only air rifles for small pest control, which I'm perfectly ok with, I'll save the big guns for the range and actual hunting

Riddler, you are correct! It should be interesting

Update!

Sold my Mini, J&J kit, and chrono, so extra funds are in to start this bad boy

Bought the parts needed to get the paintball side of the project working (ram, valve, solenoid, etc.) so now all I need are fitting and hose before I can start my theoretical testing!

Once the theoretical testing is done, if things are looking good, I think I'll scrap the .22 cal air rifle barrel, and buy a Lothar Walther .25 cal barrel to use for this!
I'm pretty pumped, and things are looking good!

Been talking to people on an air rifle forum, and they say that while it may not be the easiest way to make a custom air rifle, it should certainly work!

First round of parts came in!

Solenoid and valve for the project!

Wondering if I should be using a Spyder body for this though...
The pressures that I'm going to need to run this are are closer to 1200 psi, and the eye wire channels in the RPM body go down pretty deep

Type-R noid if I remember correctly

It's really genius actually, instead of a clapper noid striking a 3-way valve to actuate it, the pin on the clapper noid is the actual spool valve pin!

Don't worry, getting old tends to do that to people...

Just placed the order for the airsoft rifle
Next will be the order from McMaster-Carr tomorrow evening!

If anyone wants to jump in and grab something from them when I order, I'm still open!

Not quite, just got all the parts in

I'm liking the stock that's on the airsoft rifle though, real comfy, and looks good too!

So the first rifle that I'm building is the .22cal, and with this coming McMaster-Carr buy going, I'll be getting some important parts to get this project rolling!

Just wanted to let you guys know that I haven't forgotten about this

Just got another shipment in from McMaster-Carr (and will be sending out the orings and stuff everyone else has ordered very soon)

1' length of hexagonal 6061 aluminum measuring 1 1/4" across the flats
Won't be using the entire piece for the receiver block, probably just 3" or so
