Wow, what an excellent movie. If you haven't seen this i suggest you see it immediately. It is such a powerful and moving movie it is unbelievable.

Denzel Washington play's out the role of the father with such excellence it is sort of scary.

What a powerful movie, i give it a 5 out of 5

I'd be lying if I said it didn't put a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat, call me a ***** all you want.

Ouch

I have wanted to watch that movie since the day I saw the previews for it but I never got around to it...it seemed like a good story, and coupled with an actor like Denzel Washington, it just can't be beat.

It'll give me something to have me and my buddies watch right after we go out to eat after exams on Thursday

Denzel Washington was great, but I thought the movie in a whole was awful. I found it corny.

*SPOILERS*

The old “good guy negotiator” against the younger, bloodthirsty police chief. The fact the ‘sniper’ missed his shot is just pathetic, and then Denzel beating him up after being shot in the arm was a little over the top, (the sniper looked pretty buff). How the cops managed to arrest the other guy on accident is a joke. Why did the hostage negotiator escort Denzel pass the media to court? And I don’t know about you guys, but I wouldn’t be so kind towards someone who was keeping me inside a building at gunpoint, who cares if it’s for is kid? I know I wouldn’t.

I’m sure there’s more, but like PaintballerX said, it’s been out for a year now-and I went on opening day. Sorry if I pissed you off, I’m a just a bit picky. 0?

I am ninety-nine point nine percent sure that it is not a true story. Then again, Michel Jordan said he was ninety-nine point nine percent sure that he wouldn’t come out of retirement.

Am I the only one here who thought it was unrealistic and overly dramatic?

I thought it was very good and very well done.
Only bad thing I noticed in the whole movie...
Was Ray Liotta wearing maskera? (SP??)

Well, of course everyone has their opinions.
I think that every movie nowadays is overly predictable.
Until I see a movie where the villain wins, like in Arlington Road, all movies are predictable.

John Quincy Archibald (John Q/Denzel Washington) is a father, whose son is put into the hospital with a failing heart. His Medical insurance and such won't cover the operation for a heart transplant, so he tries his hardest to raise the money. When all else fails, Denzel takes hostages in his sons hospital until his demands for a new heart are met.
