I remeber the thread where we got to choose what kind of new forum we wanted, I didn't think they'd actually make a forum

Anyways, kudos to the programmers and anyone else who helped get it up and running

You messed it up because you deleted the two real ones as well.

Just leave it how I have it now and by tomorrow night it should be fine (if mike didn't tamper with it anymore)

Who else isn't it working for? It dosn't load, all I see is what looks like a mailbox stuffed with Klansmen, some people can get in and such but I don't even get a notice of any kind.

I just give advice and make bad jokes about Canada, but I was told I can't do that anymore because people were getting offended.

Why dosn't it work for me? I got a journal to write in about dicks not standing for the Pledge of Allegence, religious reasons my ass, these are the people who have no God yet hide behind it because they don't feel like standing up for 30 goddamn seconds, they don't have to say anything or nothing, just stand, they're just dickheads who don't know jack about why they're not standing up. "Oh I don't support Bush because I think he's an ass." Fine think he's an ass all you want but that dosn't explain not standing for the damn flag, you should be so lucky to live here, in other countries if you don't know thier damn anthem they kill you. What, you object because it has the word "God" in it? Well then, burn all your money and live in the mountains as a hermit because it has "God" on it too, but you wont. Why don't you? Because you're shallow, you don't do it because you're too lazy and don't have any real convictions, you just want to feel like a big man with a mind of your own, but you don't, you think you do but it is an illusion, you think you're free from all obligations because you don't stand, but you aren't, you're still owned by the want for more things, you denounce those who push comertialized products yet you gobble it up.

I think you're just angry because everybody doesn't agree with you- and suddenly, more and more, people are actually starting to dissagree, and are more willing to say so.

Not standing for the pledge isn't about hating your country. It's about wanting your country to get better, from the ground up- by putting it to people's faces that it's not 'FINE' to ask people to acknowledge the existance of their God. Would you be very receptive of a pledge that advocated that there was no God at all? Of course not, and you should never have to say a pledge (in part, or in whole) involving someone else's beliefs. And as long as you're preaching fundamentalism, I have to point out that 'under God' was a change from the original pledge of aliegence- and so why don't we go back to the way that it used to be? I have no problem pledging aliegence to the flag- but to the God, the ignroance of, and the general bias of the people against athiests like myself- I find that offensive.

It's not something that people should ever have to make compromises about. "well, okay, just stand then." "sit up in your desk, at least." No, that's not how it works. Passive resistance is not effective when you're cooperating with the authority. Do you think people aren't standing because they're lazy? Because they want to get a kick? No. If people are anything like me, it's because they know that eventually, maybe a decade or two down the road, half the class will be seated for the pledge, and then things will have to change.

Could you, for a moment, stop pretending that your religion is better than everyone else- and that it deserves a place in the Pledge more than hinduism, islamicism, or confucism? Or, how about, 'in Buddha we trust'? I'm sure you'd be crazy about that.

As for your rant about the dollar bill, well, I have a little loophole for you. Soft money. Credit cards don't ask you to be a majority religion. Checkbooks don't either.

Not that it matters, though. It's moot. People need money to get by. People don't need pledges injected with mainstream ideology.

I don't bother you when you stand up for your pledge. Don't tread on me when I sit down for mine.

Christ on goddamn pony, did you actually read and understand what I said? I don't care if you say it, I just want you to stand and acknowlege it, you don't have to pledge nothing, just stand the **** up, and you don't have to acknowledge that there is a God, now that phrase is more of a figure of speech than anything, and you're not pledging anything to God, the name is just there so quit pissing about how it "offends" you, grow a pair, everyone thinks there's somekind of conspiracy aganst Athiests, there isn't get over it, I don't care about you or what you do, to me it dosn't matter if you belive in God, Buddah, pudding, or Fred ****ing Flintstone as the one true god, or if you worship your own ass I don't give a damn.

No the people are lazy, and what the hell kind of change is going to come about from some people sitting down? What the hell kind of change? Yeah that's right, nothing to nobody.

I don't have a religion, I belive in a higher being of some type but I don't have a religion so push your anti-Christian horse**** on someone else.

As for your soft money, you can't forever be using credit and checks, at some point you will come into contact with some paper currency and then the **** has hit the fan.

It does bother me when you don't stand up, makes me think you just don't care about your country so why don't you go join the Peace Corps and help some needy people in third world countries instead of *****ing about how God and religion corrupts all people and things it touches, because it dosn't.

I don't see why the debate over the Pledge of Allegiance always ends up as a fight about religion. That is not what the Pledge itself was founded upon. It was founded upon the love of one's country, never to forsake it for any other. "one nation under God" is not trying to push anyone towards Christianity, and it DOES deserve to be in there more than Hinduism, Islamicism, and Confucionism. The reason is because this country was founded on Christian values and beliefs, and at the time, it was not so unheard of.

In my honest opinion, everyone should stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, because that is just what it is: a Pledge of Allegiance to your COUNTRY, not religion. We have Baptism and actual faith for entering religion, not recitals. No one is forcing you to say "under God." You can pause at that part if you wish. I am comfortable with doing something slightly similar: sometimes I will go with my parents to a Catholic church (I am Baptist), and they will speak the Lord's prayer and there is one line that says something like "I will uphold the laws of a holy and apostolic church." I am not a member of an Apostolic church (which is regarded by Anglicans, Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, and some others that have been perpetuated by successive ordinations of bishops and to be requisite for valid orders and administration of sacraments), so I remain silent on that line. It's not that big of a deal, so I don't see why everyone gets in these little arguments about two words. Don't say them if you don't approve of them.
