Most ownage yet witnessed on PBF

Ok for the backround of the sotry... this dude bought some speakers from me a while ago, and they were wrecked (the dudes claimed they were DOA) and they told me that Madison Speakers (who is responsible for warranty stuff) totally ignored them. That being said he hired a guy he claimed to be a lawyer and they have tried to get me to buy the speakers back. Seeing as there was a "lawyer" on the case I am almost agreed, but then I thought about the whole scenario, and did some Dirk Pitt-quality deductive reasoning. I sent the following email to the supposed lawyer.

Madison Speakers has had a perfect track record as far as warranties for as long as I have worked with them. It truly boggled my mind when I was told continually by Nick that he was getting the shaft from them. Then along came you a few months later, telling me you will only accept a monetary refund. I continually told you that Madison would take care of your warranty, yet you always tried to steer shy of them. You told me that the only form of a warranty you would accept is a monetary refund. You continually brought up the UCC, and even though all you had to do was get the speakers fixed by Madison, you again chose to avoid them like the plague. Then a few days ago, I recall you stating in the email that you wanted to have a simotaneous transaction, where I would send the money at the same time you sent the speakers up. Now why on earth would a business trust a customer to do the transaction at the same time? The customer knows that the business will definitely send the money back upon receiving the product, especially when there is a lawyer on the case. Why is it that you would only do a simotaneous transaction? Why is it that you never tried to get the warranty done with Madison? Why is it that I was told by Madison that the description of your problem looked exactly like the receiving party broke the speakers themselves? Elementary, Watson. Nick broke the speakers, and upon Madison not covering him for the voided warranty, he tried with all his heart to get Audiobin to pay for wrecked speakers.

On top of this, I have done an internet search for any information regarding you as a lawyer, and I have yet to come up with even the slightest hint of evidence that shows you are what you say you are. Please provide me proof of this.

Unless you can provide absolute proof that the speakers arrived as damaged as you say they were, I highly suggest you leave us alone on the matter before we file you for fraud.

Thank you very much and have a wonderful evening

yea id say they just got owned

woooo updates.

ok, i cant post what the lawyer wrote because his email thing says im not allowecd to cause its confidential. all i can say is what he said in a quick summary. basically he said nick did not break the cabinets, he simply wants what he paid for. this is quite a stupid thing to say if you ask me, because to get what he paid for all he has to do is et the warranty replacements from Madison. heres what i sent back

I can understand why Nick does not wish to pay $268 for cabinets that do not work, for very obvious reasons. That is why they come with a one year warranty. Madison speakers is open until about 3 o'clock mountain time, and will gladly have the cabinets replaced in no time.

There have been around 20 warranty issues this year, all of which Madison has dealt with very promptly. Simply give them a call at (970)613-0922, and you can make arrangements to have the cabinets replaced. I know for a fact there is no violation of any laws going on if he gets what he paid for, even if it is replacement speakers covered by the warranty, so please do not try to convince me to believe otherwise.

As far as I am concerned, the only reason Nick wants his money back is because he does not like the speakers, whether it be how they look or how they are made, because if what you say is true he hasn't had a chance to hear them and judge by audio quality yet. In fact, I recall him telling me on the phone exactly that- he does not like the speakers, and wants his money back because of it. If he wants what he paid for like you say, then you know exactly what to do. You could have gotten him what he paid for months ago had you simply had them replaced by warranty from Madison.

I am not going to argue about this anymore because I find it quite pointless. You say you are trying to get him what he paid for, yet you haven't even started to attempt at getting warranty replacements, which is the logical thing to do. I'm not trying to point fingers but that sounds quite hypcritical if you ask me.

I have given you Madison's number, and you know exactly what to do to get the speakers replaced for free, and thus get Nick what he rightfully owns. Judging by how long ago Nick ordered the speakers, I recommend you get the warranty info straightened out quickly, because the warranty expires after one year, and it would be a sad thing for me to think about knowing that all that had to be done was a quick phone call and this all could have gone away.

Pwnzed!

BTW, Dirk Pitt doesn't really do THAT much of the detective work, he has a whole staff. Usually, he asks Hiram Yaeger for some stuff, and comes up with a conclusion using his knowledge, and some ideas. He's cool because he kicks the bad guy's ass.

haha yea, but it is always dirk pitt who figures out what the plot of the bad guys is. like in atlantis found he is the one who uses deductive reasoning to figure out that the comet isnt what the wolf family is relying on to destroy the world
