1) What college or university did you attend and why?
U. of Southern Maine. It was the closest.
2) Did you live at home or campus? What were the positives and negatives of your decision?
I was on campus for the first 2 years. I did NOTHING except drink and party and pass out in puddles of my own vomit. Good times.
Then, I found work, and commuted after that.
Some people think that living on campus means FEWER distractions, but that only applies to the nerdy quiet kids.
If your going to party, then don't expect to get much school work done.
3)What do you like about your college or university?
It was close, so my friends could visit, and vice versa.
4)What is your major? What attracted you to select it?
Computer Science. It seemed easy.
5)What study habits did you struggle with at college? is there any skill you wished you had mastered before entering college?
I've still hate "math word problems". They always suck. In fact they just get worse as the math classes get harder and harder.
Otherwise, I was a master crammer. I could slack off an entire semester, then cram the entire book in my head in one night for the final.
Sure... I would forget it in a couple days, but all that mattered was the grade on the final.
6)In your major, has there ever been a course that has been difficult? For what reasons?
Not really, though advanced object-oriented database design was really, really boring. I just didn't "get it", so mostly just memorized the crap, and regurgitated it onto the tests.
7) Even though you get to select your classes, has there ever been a class that you have not liked? Was it difficult to persevere through and pass?
Sure. We had to take art classes. So, I took an abstract art class.
What a total load of crap. I would just throw paint on a piece of paper.
Some days, the professor would say "ITS BRILLIANT!", and other days he would say "Whats this? Did you even read the book?".
I never understood what the hell he wanted!!
Public Speaking sucked also. I put it off until my senior year. I HATE public speaking.
8) What are some notable experiences you have had in college?
Well- I think the expression is "What you do in college STAYS in college"......
9) What are your future goals?
Make money. Buy a small island in the carribbean. Do bizzare experiments on animals. Perhaps cross them with humans to make human-animal hybrids?
10) Any words of advice for me?
NEVER take classes on friday. The partying starts on thursday night. Its "Thirsty Thursday, as we call it".
ALso, no classes before noon, unless you can skip them.
Also, find out which professors are the "good ones". These are the ones that only grade on the mid-term, and final, and NO homework, and does not require attendance.
ALso... have fun. You can grow up after you graduate.
