Talking paper clip+electric socket=fun!

in my 3rd period class we were sitting in a corner studding. one of my friends was sticking one end of a paper clip into the the socket and getting zapped. after about the 5th time it did not work anymore. so he stuck a end into each socket and bam! the socket started to sound like a bunch of firecrackers going off.(not quite as loud) and sparks were flying out of the socket right in front of my face. he got in alot of trouble.

Yeah... after he did that the circuit breaker should have blown, unless it has one of those fancy on the plug breakers like they have in hotels.

I remember an old trick were we could carefully break the glass of a lightbulb WITHOUT breaking the filmament.

When somebody (ie treacher, parents, friends, etc) turns the light on, the filmament bursts into flames!!
Scares the crap out of people.

I've heard of people going a step further and filling the bulb with black-powder, and putting it back on the socket to create a larger fireball. (Actually, I think I saw it on McGuyver?)

if you want a really cool bright *poof* similar to the paper clip rollup gum wrapper and bend it like a tuning fork. hold the handle and shove both ends in and it wont shock you yet youll get a sweet little light show

What your friend did is funny.

The best way to do it is get a gum wraper (The kind with metal on it), and then take the paper part of the gum wrapper and fold it around it, as in the diagram below. This way when you stick it in the socket, you won't recieve a shock because the paper insulates you.

we took 2 stick pins in shop class and put them in one at a time then used the blade of siccors to connect them so the plastic handles insulated you. I think there was grease on the pins because a flame came out of the socket and then it sparked a lot.

you dont need the paper tedrzzz, there is only minimal amounts of current going through the wrapper and it doesnt shock you at all if you are holding the wrapper by the handle you mold into

In i thnk 5th grade a kid did that in the computer room and all of the computers turned off. And if you want to light you pants on fire take a can of the butane that you refill lighters with and then push the end on your pants and then light it, you can let it burn for i sec and then you can pretty much wipe the flame off.

Its called a lightbulb bomb. Very easily made lethal if yoiu mix pellets in with the black powder, also a FELONY.

if u want a fireball in ur hand, just get one of those little binaca spray tubes and squirt some on your(the more, the longer u'll burn) and then light it. with the lights off it looks really kool and smells better than butane

Halfway unplug one of those surge protecter things. The one with all the plug ins on it. Then drop a dime down on the top of the plug in, where the two prongs on top are showing. It will fly up, spark a lot, and burn the dime if done properly.

^^I've done the lightbulb trick and the dime trick. Fun stuff.

Plug in an extension cord, get a pair of insulated wire cutters, and slowly cut through. A nice blue flame will appear, and you will get to smell the room fill up with ozone.
