Pictures I promised of my Truck

Before I went away I said I would get pictures of my Tribute. I'm back, so here are the pics. I'm not quite done with it yet, I still wanted to put on a push bar and driving lights. I'm going to pick those out today. Well, here is the side:

It's a brand new exaust system. A bassani x-pipe and Flowmaster American Thunder. I didn't want it too loud, it is just enough to sound good. It really did add some pep too, I think atleast 10hp.

Nice. Didn't that exhaust give you any added torque, or what?

My fathers oldest brother has a 1994 RT-10 Viper and a '32 Ford 5 Window coupe (getting restored right now). The middle brother has a Mercedes S500 4-matic and has a reserve on a red Lotus Elise with the sport package(should have it by end of summer, he is number 12 on the list). My father and uncles good friend is a car collector and he was the one that got them to buy their cars (well, except for the '32, my uncle has had that since he was 17). He has an original 1964 Shelby 289 Cobra, a Lotus Elite, a Lotus Elan, a Ford Phaeton, an E-55 AMG, a baby Bugatti, an S2000 (which he just sold), as well as a bunch of other cars in the past. Including a McLaren, which he actually didn't like. As you can see i've kinda grown up around classic, fast, and expensive cars.

Lowtryx, I'm not sure what it exactly did. It definately added something, it feels quite a bit zippier. I figure i'm probibly at between 420 and 450hp. My goal is kinda to get it as fast as my uncles Viper. With the work he had done he is probibly around 450hp, so I figure 500 reliable hp will be my long term goal. As of now though my money is going into my truck, being that is my daily driver I need to get it to where I want it first.

Skurge420...wana race?

Hmm.. Sounds good. Is the exhaust a straight-through shot, or no?
What are the engine specs?

Also, one question: Is your truck manual, or auto?

I ask because, I plan to one way or another, SOMEDAY get a Ram Hemi, and convert to Manual, however I have NO IDEA how to change out a tranny or Drive Shaft.

My uncle would know, no question about it, but he lives a good 3 hours away, and I'm only trying to get an idea what it would be like/what tools it would require.
Obviously a jack for the tranny, torque wrenches etc, but you know.

The car: a 281ci V8 with a Eaton roots type supercharger (meaning the blower is built into the intake manifold). The exaust is a cross over, originally an H style crossover, now an X style.

The truck: 3.0L (200ci) V6 making 205hp and 201lb-ft tq.

The car is a 6 speed while the truck is a 4 speed automatic. I would have gotten it in stick, but only the 4cyl is made in stick and I wanted the 6cyl, so I got the automatic. Now that I have been driving it around for a while i'm glad, for normal around town driving it is great....I still downshift down hills and around turns by habit though.

As to changing transmissions, as long as you can find an exact swap for the trans it shouldn't be too hard to change, a local shop could probibly do it for you(which is always the easiest route if you don't know what you are doing, plus they have a lift which would make things a whole lot easier). If you want to do it yourself I suggest getting a few books on transmission installations. A friend of mine who has a Jeep switched his from stick to floor mounted auto in his driveway in a day. Stick to auto is easier then auto to stick, but it shouldn't be too hard to do, especially with Dodge.

By the way, how about buying yourself an SRT-10 Ram. In a few years I bet you could find one for around $25,000 or less and that has a 6 speed. No 4x4 though. 0? I would think the hemi ram is availible in stick though, usually pickups are?

You never know, Dooms.. Sometimes, things are too good to be true :P.
I have some big plans (Dreams, rather) for a Hemi. I'm still looking to see if Edel Brock manufactures the proper headers for a Hemi, but I seriously doubt it. If I could find some, I'd probably run the exaust to a straight-shot down either side of the chassis, or something to that liking. Of course, a roll bar as well, and one thing I'd love to do.. A custom Skull Shifter, with Glowing eyes. Wouldn't be too hard, just need the proper resisters, a hole in the firewall and connect up to the power source, running to some LED's.

Anywho, I'm not that sure, but I THINK I would need a new drive train, because the yoke on the Stock train would be a bit too small for the news trans. What do you think?

Lowtryx - If you're wanting more performance, you're going to want have a crossover pipe. You don't HAVE to, but it'd be better. I'm personally not because I don't want my exhaust to get hung up on anything, and w/o the crossover I can tuck it up in the frame nicely.

If I really wanted a nice truck I would find something from before the whole emmisions thing, like an early 60's truck, put straight pipes right up through the bed like a tractor trailor and throw something like a 500ci twin turbo diesel in it. Then give it 15" of lift with 44" mud boggers. It would drive horrible on the street and it would be tough to keep clean from all the diesel soot, but nothing could beat it off road. O well, I can dream.

Anyway, your use of the truck can make a lot of difference in what you want to do with it. Do you want it for off roading or do you want performance? They are opposite ends of the spectrum.

Oh, and by the way those skull shifters are easy to wire. You run the wire under the carpet to the drivers side where the fuse box is and patch it in there. Usually it only needs one (+) wire since it is already grounded on the shifter.

Cool ride Doom! just dont make it look cheesy with a bunch of weird aftermarket racing parts! I like it pretty much how it is now. Nerf bars would be cool though. Mirror tinted windows maybe. Dunno, you car but still pretty cool though!

Very true, Dooms. I would definitly want it for Perfomance, rather than off-roading (As much fun as that would be.)

I wouldn't really worry about hanging the exhaust up on anything, because one of the first things I'd be doing is jacking it up, for sure. Not anything insane, just a few extra inches. I'd probably cover up the wells, as well. Not a necessity, however I think it would look hot, and help a bit for those puddles etc.

Anyway, I've been wondering... If I got the proper intake manifolds etc, could I install a blower? It's definitly something I would wait quite a while for, if I did it at all, but I'm just curious as to weather or not you could incorperate one into a Magnum in the first place.

Hehe, one day.

Well, I picked out my pushbar and lights today. I got a Polar Bear stainless steel bar with Hella 450 white fog lights. I should have it on by monday, it will look schweet.

The bar is like this, but in stainless:

The lights are like this:

I also ordered molded truck specific mud flaps, a K&N filter, and a stainless rear step plate.
