Neil Peart and John Bonham.

I've been playing the drums for a few years now so they've been great influences.

same here. I'm going on 4 years of playing. I play at least an hour a day. Then when I'm not playing I'm listening to Rush or Zeppelin or someone. Neil and Bonham have been my biggest influences. What kit do you play on?

As a graduation gift my uncle bought me a Pearl drumset w/ Zildjian symbals...but before, I played with the same drumset I had from when I was 12 (which was so small, the size for toddlers). What about yourself?

Eddie Van Halen is a guitarist. Alex Van Halen is a drummer. They are brothers. The story goes like this. Alex got a guitar with the money from his paper route. He was to busy for guitar with his paper route so Eddie started playing. Then after Eddie was better than Alex, Alex bought a drum set. they formed a band. and ya...

Dan Zimmermann (Gammaray, Freedom Call. Download Cosmic Chaos, nuff said.)
Tommy Portimo (Sonata Arctica, I saw some footage of him doing a drum solo, HOLY SH1T!!)
Jörg Michael (Stratovarius, saw him live, he dosent even look at his drums when he's playing.)
Alex Holzwarth (Rhapsody, Avantasia. I also saw some footage of this guy, very good live).
Jukka Nevalainen (Nightwish. Guy has a great range of styles.)

Actually, ANY drummer (or musician for that matter) in power metal is Excellent.

And of coarse
Neil Peart (Rush)
Jason Rullo (Symphony X)
Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, see them live and you will understand)
Danny Carey(Tool. Who else can incorporate sacred geometry, and the fibonacci sequence into a drum riff?)
