spyware and adaware

alright a few days ago i was viewing a website, not a p0rn site, and all of a sudden i start getting a crapload of popups, and i had to restart my computer twice to get it to work. once i do i attempt to get on the internet and it would direct me to a 1000+ character website, and wouldnt let me get on any website. after talking to ACR on aim he was able to help me fix that and some other problems. but then i continually get a lot of popups, and today i found a bunch of icons to p0rn and other websites on my desktop. i deleted those and ran adaware, spybot, and spyhunter to clena up the mess. i also deleted it off of my desktop and checked my add/remove folder to see if there was any programs that shouldnt be there. i found about 10 or 15 of them and removed them all. but now i was going to another website and i had 100+ popups and they wouldnt close out. after half of an hour i was able to remove them all. i also realized that some words like iin the asexual theread the in the word asexual the word sex was highlighted in orange and gave a link to some p0rn site. i also found highlited words in another thread htat highlighted dating in carbon dating. i was able to remove the dating ones, but i cant get rid of the sex highlights. if anybody could help me out or tell me a program that would help it would be greatly appreciated.

im thinking of reformatting to clean up the ****, but last time i reformatted the system32 files were lost since my comp is a ****ty HP and came with no reformatting disk. so if i want to reformat it i have to pay to have it done because i need the files installed again.

any help would be greatly appreciated

EDIT: in this post the word dating is still highlited several times, and the word spyware is also highlighted. my parents can NOT see this, at least not the sex highlights

It possible that what ever the site you were on snuck a trojan onto your system.
A few years ago someone hacked the Martha Stewart site and set up a popup. When you tried to click and close the pop up it used the holes in windows to install a trojan. Poor old lady had 2 to 300 p**n site plastered to her screen. Run a virus scan and check for trojans. if that doesn't work or you don't have a trojan, try doing a system restore to the day before you went to the site. After that you're S.O.L. and looking at a format.

Try doing the system restore. I had a ****load of spyware and I got all of it deleted, but it got a trojan on before. So my computer got ****ed. So basically try the system restore, run the spyware ish constantly, and do a virus scan.

best pop up remover is using firefox and never using IE again.

But if you insist on using IE then Google bar works ok.

Google just blocks em, doesnt take the prgram causing them off of the computer. Like people above had said. use programs such as adaware and spybot. Use these programs one after another, preferably in safe mode, not just one. Adaware gets alot, but it also misses alot. Thats why you come right after it with spybot S&D, thats what i do.

run spybot S&D, adaware, and get hijack this. in adition to that you should run a full virus sweep. heres wat to do to help it out in the meantime, disconnect from the net, just pull the plug after u get those programs and install them, and run them of course, boot it back up and see wat it does. def. no need to reinstall windows.

firefox or just mozilla is great for anti popups. i don't think i've ever had one w/ it.
