Your Personal Sound System?

Right there I have about 700 watt. I got most of those for free because I build custom speakers/subs. On the 2nd and 3rd pic I have those hooked up to my PS2 and the rest are hooked up to my comp.

this is it . . . .the part around the volume adjuster lights up red on the bass, so that is cool

it is pretty nice sound and is 280 watts i think. 3 disc . . . nice it was $200 candadian

my friend went to japan and he said that for personal shelf stereos like this one they dont have cassette things anymore, it is replaced by mini disc players

**EDIT** mine is 280 watts because it has no subwoofer . . . THAT is 120 watts (i think i will get it wehn i get the $$$$ tho (extra $100 canadian (thats HALF of what the whoe stereo costs) ) )

My friend has that same one, I think its about 400 watt. The seperate subwoofer that comes with it is very strong. Turn your groove on once you hit 20 volume.

In my room i have sony 6.1 dolby surround with the prog. scan dvd and 12" woofer. The hole house shakes when i watch movies. For my computer i some crappy 50$ speakers and a 6" woofer. Hopefully i can get a wireless media router so i can play songs from my laptop onto my system wirelessly which would be sweet. In my car i have an alpine CDA model h/u, phenix 10 disc changer, 12" rockford he-2, sony x-plod amp, and pioneer 5.25" in the door, and factory 6x9's in the back. Im obsessed.

My receiver and a speaker. The other speaker is on the other side of the room (I didn't get a pic of it).

Another speaker, behind me on top of the fridge.

I don't know any specs, I got all of my **** for really cheap off of eBay, and it all sounds pretty damn good to me.

I can peak my system at about 2,000 watts, and I can run it all day at 1,200-1,300 watts

for the bottom end i have a 1,000 watt 18" Madison W-Bin sub, and 2 12's (inside the bookshelf speakers)

top and mids are taken by the bookshelf 12's, two midranges and two tweeters

i put a crack in the fron door wihthis thing

i highly doubt it.

first of all, with the exception of really high end systems, no 10" woofers ever go above 400 or so watts. im pretty sure you didnt say you had Velodyne or B&W speakers so yea

second, a 1/3 of your system's power would not shake the plants, nor would full power. In fact, im not sure if a live concert inside your house would shake your neighbor's plants. Most of the powerfull bass gets abosrbed by the walls of your house (Dry wall is actually a decent sound insulator)

i know that my system, at a measured 1,500 watts, could definitely not shake any plants outside of the house, and i guarantee mine is louder.

any speakers get there power from the wall (unless battery powered.) by powered, what they mean is that the subs have their own built in amplifier, meaning the receiver doesn't have to provide the power needed to run them. I used to have a $400 powered sub built by the well respected cambridge soundworks. It was 300 watts (RMS) and had a 15" woofer, and it could knock stuff off of walls, but across the house it was simply a vague annoyance. And this is one of the higher end powered subs made today

when i turn on my Peavey CS-800 work horse of a power amplifier, the lights all dim, the computer restarts and a nice popping noise is heard from the sub, which is connected via a 1/4" cable. Even without making any noise this thing draws unheard of power from the wall. Next I crank it up as high as it goes without clipping, and power my system with a good 1,500 watts of clean power This isn't some bogus peak rating, it is what it was made to do (this amp can power concerts and stuff, and the sub was made to be the main bass producer in huge outdoor crowds) I used to run it at full power for like a month, then we realized the sub had settled our house into it's foundation, causing a large crack to split up the front door and my dad stopped letting me blast it.

now just think, i have enough power to run a concert and wreck my house (actually, i have been the DJ of several dances, including my sister's wedding reception), and it still can't come close to making my neighbor's plants shake, All you hear sounds like the equivelant of an obnoxious teenager's car system when outside.

I'm sure you have a decent home system and all, but the numbers you threw out just don't look up to spec in the least
