My rekindled love for the early 90's

through the mid 90's and it's metal scene. Pantera, Fear Factory, Today is the Day, Machine Head, In Flames, PLUS all the bands from the 80's that continued, PLUS a whole lot more. I'm glad I have rediscovered this period and it's music.

im not really into that kinda stuff, but older music as in 80's and 90's can be extremely good no matter what genre your into. Especially if your listening to rap, oilder rap kills the **** they put out today. wayyyyyy better lyrical content.

Yup. The old rap is sick in comparison. Rock is the same way though... I miss bands like Nirvana and Soundgarden. This New Found Glory **** needs to go.
Oh, and Truelife, if you wanna get a decent old school sound... listen to Afroman. He has a Too Short sound, and his lyrics are sick.

I love all these bands, especially FF. To me this is the basis of what true metal should be. Very few bands caught on in modern times it seems though. Iced earth and a few others still carry the torch but they don't get much credit. All this crap stuff on uranium seems to be clogging up the scene.

There is good contemporary metal too though: Lamb of God, Mastodon, Shadows Fall, Mastodon being the fore runners....but I know what you mean. So much in the modern scene is SO generic. It's not all bad though.

old machine head was pretty good, never really got into them though. I saw them when they opened for obituary in 94, it was my 1st real metal show! I did see metallica @ day on the green (the one with the riot) a year or 2 before but my dad went so it didnt count.
