*Sertoma Air Show* --lots-o-pics/vids..

Well today we went to Lafayette to watch the cajun air festival. There were thousands of people, and i had a great time. The USAF Thunderbirds performed, as well as the Red Baron Sqaudron, a r/c group from texas, and some of the worlds best stunt pilots, as well as some other stuff. Enjoy..

Arriving at Lafayette Regional Airport..

The petroleum comany helicopters next door..

This plane was rollin down about to take off... They had to shut down the airport today, and all air traffic within a 5 mile radius, but they had some airliners land throughout the day to keep things movin and on schedule.

Planes the air force had that ppl could go through (up close pics further down)

Once inside the gate, they had a huge line of hummers, dunno why they were there, just a bunch of different H2's.

Had to cross the runway to get to the show, whole lot of walkin across an airport..

Air Force had this ride parked in the front, was decked out w/ 20"s and a sweet paintjob.. it was slammin too.

One of the planes ppl could chill by..

My uncle flies a plane similar to this, except its an airliner, and hes a commercial pilot for Contenintal Airlines out of Houston, Tx. UPS!1!!

Random heli on display..

more pics, next post....

Ok, now everyones heard of shockwave? Well today i got to see this jet truck monster, and i must say, what a beast. Its sportin 3 jet engines on the rear..

Inside, the tube frame/roll cage chassis..

the powerplants of this machine..

The "business end". i watched them repack the chutes a couple times too..

The worlds fastest truck, at 376 mph, with 36,000 horsepower..

I have a couple vids of it running, trying to get them up..

moving along down the showgrounds..

Learjet on display..

inside cockpit of learjet, *pretty buttons, ooh*

Random plane..

They had a r/c group out of texas opening the show with some stunt planes, and a r/c jet that was going 200+ mph. (vid comin also)

piper cub plane..

they also had 4-5 air force fighter jets, heres one of em'

Army hummer thing..

inside hummer..

Thunderbirds in the distance..

Red Baron planes, they are modified with over 450 horses..

Skydivers, w/ barons circling..

heh, when this guy touched down at center stage, he proposed to his fiancee, she accepted.

This next guy is the united states champion stunt flier/freestlye acrobatics or whatever u wanna call it, and one of the worlds best at that..

They had a F-15 w. a fighter pilot showing off the jet, its capable of 1,500 mph, and climbs hella fast.

It hooked up with an old mustang fighter, and they flew around a bit.

Shockwave again, blowing smoke...

And fire, lol..

And finally the USAF Thunderbirds, fixin to take off..

he was bookin' it at over 600 mph, it was so fast, it was out of sight before you heard the sound of it, truely awesome..

A final tribute, (aka, ran out of memory and battery, lol)

**Also, if your wondering why the sky is black/brown/dark soemtimes, they were burning off a sugarcane field, and the wind was bringing the smoke over

All in all, i had a great time, and i am getting vids up as we speak..

Ever go to the Naval Academy's air show? It's not to far from Andrew's Air Force Base. I remember seeing the Blue Angels every year as a kid. Good times.

nice! I live literally 5 minutes( if not less( from an naval air field) We always see planes taking off and landing. Pretty cool though, we never go to the air shows here, our girls couldn't stand it. They hate when the planes go over our house as it is!!

Seriously though, very nice pics!

Me too, I barely notice the planes going over after 14+ years of living here.

air shows are fun sometimes... but I have a short attention span so it gets repetitive.
