My thoughts on the PStwo

I had been fighting with the PS2 for going on a year, with the usualt "disc read error", and it just not working period. Well, as luck would have it, the old PS2 died. With GT4 and MGS:3 approaching, I had to get another. As I walked to the back of k-mart, I saw the PS2, and beside it, the PStwo. Seeing as how they were both the same price, I decided to go with the newer.

As I pulled it out of the box, I first noticed how small and light it was. It measures 23cm wide, 15.2cm long, and 2.8cm thick. That size is comparable to that of a game case. SCEA also claims it to be over 75% smaller than the old PS2. They also claim it to be less than half of the old weight.

As I started looking, I also see it has an ethernet port and a modem port. With the new PStwo, there is no longer a need to buy a network adapter. I don't play my PStwo online now, but I should have DSL by Christmas, and it's good to know I don't need a network adapter.

As you go to put a game in, a lid comes up instead of a tray sliding out. This again helps it to be even smaller, as well as keeping it simple. The more simple something is, the stronger it is. On my old PS2, the tray that held the games didn't work, but I'm sure I won't have that problem with this.

As for it being smaller and lighter and the integration of a network adapter, as well as a few other little details, it isn't really different than a PS2.

My verdict: It's cool they made it smaller and lighter, but no need to buy it if your old PS2 still works.

If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask.

I already went through Sony, and they were dickheads about it.

That disc read error problem was common i've heard. Most sites or gaming related forums probably had a fix for it. But it sounds like urs was gonna die period. Cool, like ja289 siad, its really only useful if u need a new one. Glad u likie

I cleaned the lens every time before I played. It was the only way it would work. The new one is pimp, though, but it put off my Freak Kit for a while.

I need a barrel kit. How much will a CP run? I've only seen them on one website, and the site didn't look trustworthy.
