Sg

ok, I'v been saving up for awhile and im gonna get a new guitar. Im really starting to lean towards the gibson SG. I had been looking at a jackson but I have heard some bad stuff about jacksons. So I would like to get your guys input on the SG.

-thanks

It's all preference. Buy used. If your gonna spend the money on an SG, then look at some other used stuff. Personally, my favorite brands are Prs, hamer (not slamer pos), and Gibson. If your not totally set on the SG then look at a used Hamer artist custom. cheap, play beautifully, and rock. or a mirage. love those too.

or if you have the money...

Don't get SGs they aren't that good. Jacksons have good crunch for a metal sound. I haven't heard much about SGs except that they aren't good and I've tried out a Jackson and it was amazing.

It's all preferance, there is not really one guitar that is the best, whichever one fits your style better you should get

I have been playing an SG now for 14 years, the neck was broken off back in 97 but I got that fixed (required having it glued back on, some work on the fret board and a truss rod adjustment) which cost me over 150 bucks and a half restored vintage 8x10 marshall cabinet. But its been a good one. I like it cus its got that great gibson les paul sound but doesnt weigh 3 metric tons like the Pauls do.

ya my dads gibson les paul is crazy heavy. Like after playing with it for a half hour your back starts to hurt.
