Angry Spyder RT issues

I have a spyder RT and out of the box I can't adjust the velocity any higher than 250fps. I tried a stronger spring, but it won't shoot unless I loosen the velocity adjustment screw. It strange. If I tighten it too much the bolt won't stay in a cocked position. If I loosen it until it locks, but still fires, the speed is even lower. If I loosen it a little more, I can get about 270fps, but that's about it. Help!

Not AZN level price, there's not too many electro markers priced at the same level as the Talon.

270? That's actually decent...

Anyways, I say get a stainless steel barrel and a lighter valve spring.

Well, actually, 270 would be the top end of the scale. Most are between 240 - 250. Isn't that too low? I am new to paintball and am trying to get as much info as possible.

I tried to save $ at first (had to buy 2 setups for myself and my son), but that plan didn't last very long. I started with 2 Spyder RT's and then upgraded the barrels (one spyder 14" and one proto 16"...they were out of stock on the spyder so they gave me the proto at the same price), changed to maddog feednecks, Dye sticky grips, extreme rage spring kits. Tanks are Guerrilla 62/3000 hpa.

Try all of your springs and see what gives you the highest velocity
